  • Eagles no pass rush

What has happened to the purported Eagles pass rush?
We got nothing from the front 7 today.
Was it a lack of interest (yeah)?
Or do we really need to pick some talented guys to change the situation?

Cole, Thomas, Howard - where were the sacks & pressures?

I'm not surprised. I didn't expect to get a bunch of sacks agaisnt Peyton. What kiled me was the run D.

The MO on beating the Colts/Manning was to put pressure in the QBs face.
We did not do this, or even try.
Part of the problem goes to the players but the larger part goes to the coaches, namely JJ. Why the F did we not blitz the hell out of Manning? Given the result with no hard core blitz, it is another question mark on this coaching staff. Why not take the real chance to win?
Oh, my job does not depend upon it so I will do what is most familiar.
FU JJ and Reid, who is going to make a change to make the Eagles defense better???

SE, Peyton didn't even HAVE to pass tonight. Why should he drop back to pass when he could just had the ball off all friggin night long. Screw the pas rush, we needed to stop the run, first. Put them in some 3rd and longs and THEN come with pass pressure.

Fresh, I agree that we did not have to do anything to stop the pass since our rush defense was non-existent.

But IF we had pressured Manning with our front 4 THEN things
would have played out differently. I saw an Eagles defense Happy
to sit back in coverage today. This is exactly the opposite strategy
employed by teams that have beaten Indy recently. The attack
and harrass Manning approach appears to be the only effective
solution. The point that JJ did not use this approach is not very
positive in evaluating his coaching - it looks like he's an over the hill
geezer that needs to be replaced, IMO, with the vibrant Jeff Fisher,
I wish this was a feasible reality.

Regardless, JJ needs to be fired, IMO, as soon as possible. His defensive
philosphy is fundamentally flawed and noone on the team is buying into it.

Soaring just wondering if you watched the game last night?

I saw manning attempt only 20 pass's. He completed 14 of them of the 14 only one was an actually thrown more than 20 yards and that was the spectular catch by Reggie Wayne. Now I do recall of the six imcompletions all of those were attributed to the pass rush. Also I recall the INT was a product of Manning throwing the ball to quickly due to the pass rush. Most of what Manning completed were quick short passes.

Very simply put you are not going to get sacks when your defense is giving up 5.8 YPC onthe ground, simply is not going to happen.
Were from Philly F in Philly no one likes us we DON'T CARE!

They would have sacked him, but they "weren't interested" according to S.E.
