  • Heard some Names

for HC but none began with a D and ended in Staley. Wonder if he is in the mix. A name I haven't heard anywhere for the Eagles OC, but it might be out there, is the Clemson play caller Tony Elliot. They've had an awful lot of success in that offense.

I've seen so many coaches flame out in the NFL that I really don't want to hire a college coach. Give me an up and coming OC, DC or coach that has some good ideas.

I hope we give Duce a fair shot. He's been a good soldier in this org for years.

Nobody has mentioned Josh McDaniels. Anybody have thoughts about him? Maybe he finally took the binky out of his mouth.

I am not interested in a college coach. Most of the winning coaches, or the ones that do it consistently, start with a deeper and broader talent pool. There is a huge difference in a 100 man team where you decide which 5 star will be second string and teh pro game with fewer bodies and the talent much closer matched.

I'm not really interested in a college guy as HC but would certainly look at one for OC. The only difficulty there is whether they can handle Carson. Of course that depends on whether the rumors that Carson is hard to handle are right and whether Carson is even in the Eagles future

I still think Duce is the best choice to hit the ground running
We're looking for people that are fundamentally different,” vice president of player personnel Andy Weidl said Saturday night. “The love and passion for football, it's non-negotiable. They're caring, their character, they do the right thing persistently, and they have a relentless playing style that you can see on tape. The motor, it burns hot. You see them finishing plays. They have a team-first mentality. They're selfless individuals.

I don't know. To me it all hinges on Wentz. IF they are set on bringing him back, then he needs a lot of reps under the watchful eye of someone who can straighten out his mechanics, and get his head screwed on straight so he stops making so many bad decisions. That's not Duce. And, if you bring in an OC, and he turns Wentz around, and gets the offense popping, he'll end up on the short list next year when there are vacancies.

you never know, Duce might already have an idea on the team. He may have done his due diligence and have friends committed to coming on board

Duce knows the FO and understands what the team is about. He is also respected in the locker room from what I've read. I think he'll be given a fair shot. Or at least I hope...

It very well be Duce this tine around. The FO wants somebody to kiss ass and jump when Luri and the ferret speak. They want a yes man and that's what they got with Doug when they hired him. The first time he said no to them and wanted Taylor he got fired. After all, everybody knows the ferret won the SB along with Luri's help.

Had nothing to do with this year's implosion, Wentz' regression, and the potential loss of respect in the locker room due to the last game, huh?

Why do you think we played our last game that way? I'm sure that he was told to tank the game. Half of the starters were out for the game and didn't dress and Howie yet again took one for the team. If you played behind a 3rd team line you would regress too.
