Yeah, gut feel when I first saw that is that Donahoe did not like the little tradeback from 70 to 73 to pick up a 6th (which Roseman confirmed). That did, admittedly, feel like the too-cute move that Roseman can do from time to time. Giants traded up and took CB Aaron Robinson with one of those three picks we skipped; maybe that was who Donahoe liked. So, might have been a miscalculation that another team would *not* trade up in the interim. If Robinson turns out well for the Giants, that could be one we regret.

Giants may have done it as payback for the Dallas move to get Smith
Wait until next year is a terrible philosophy
      Hope is not a strategy

Out of all of the folks in that draft room Donahue is who I would trust the most. I don't think he didn't like Williams. it was more he wanted the corner the Giants got. Honestly I think MacPherson is probably as good as Robinson.

Yeah, the list of negatives on Robinson would scare us as well. From the nfl.com profile:
          • Has trouble with overcommitting against release fakes.
          • Below-average recognition of route combos.
          • Outruns downfield route phase, losing contact on comebacks.
          • Could have issues matching with true slot speed.
          • Way too many busted coverages.
          • Inconsistent working from off-man technique.
          • Doesn’t always feel as long as listed height.

Also the explanation was Howie's explanation of what happened. Donahue could have wanted anyone who was drafted after Williams. We simply don't know. Might I have felt address DT that high was a mistake. Really don't know.

Howie is such a dork in the draft room also. His cheerleading and backslapping would get old really quick with me.

A lot of teams do that. In fact I kind of like it. They spend an ton a time on getting these picks and getting the guys they want. Honestly have no issue with it. I think its more an issue that you had somebody show him up in the room. Notice Donahue wasn't there today.

Why bother? Whoie doesn't listen to him anyway.
