  • Moorehead On JJAW

It would be nice to see JJAW salvage his young career and become a steady if not spectacular contributor, but it looks like he's got a serious uphill climb...

Also, doesn't Moorehead look like he hasn't slept in a while? Maybe the crappy WR play last season is still giving him sleepless nights

"JJ caught some bad luck last year," Moorehead claimed when asked by SI.com's Eagle Maven about the Stanford product. "He really did."

Noting that Regaor has taken some positive steps to cut off the outside noise after a rookie campaign in which the Texas native let criticism get to him a little too much, Moorehead mentioned Arcega-Whiteside had accomplished similar things leading in the 2020 season.

"JJ was able to block out that noise last year, which was great for him mentally," Moorehead said. "He just caught the injury bug. It just felt like every time he was doing good, he’d get banged up. He came back, got banged up again. And then all of a sudden, you’re looking and the season is over."

"JJ will be the first one to tell you that last year was not good," Moorehead said. "But JJ is in a great place right now, playing good ball, and for a young kid, he had a good three weeks with us. Excited to see where JJ can put himself this year."

In a bottom-line league with a new coaching staff that has no skin in the game when it comes to the Arcega-Whiteside business, the lengthy wideout is likely down to his last mulligan.

We now have so much "potential" talent at WR, that I don't want to see JJAW even taking up a WR roster spot. He has already had plenty of chances to prove himself and failed. As far as injuries go, I just see that as an excuse. His injuries were minor and good NFL receivers play through them. Besides, JJAW was not injured for every game last year. Unless he lights it up in training camp with the new coaches (unlikely), he should be an early camp cut IMO.

I don't care who makes the team to tell you the truth Pliny. My problem is that guys like him finally look great in camp and then get into games and choke their brains out. Seeya JJ

yea I don't care if they find their WR corps on broad street as long as they are better than they have been. This will surely be JJAW's last chance with the Eagles. New coaching staff to give him a fresh start. He is competing against top talent though in Reagor and Devonte so he better show up with super glue
Wait until next year is a terrible philosophy
        Hope is not a strategy

In my eyes JJAW is on the ledge. A bad camp, a couple stupid drops in preseason games, an injury that holds him out of camp/games- If any of those happen it is time to just let go. It was a bad draft pick, fine. Time to give someone else a chance on the roster.

I'm sure he's already on a short list.
