  • My Birds Mt Rushmore

    So many great players to choose from! I have a ton of guys that I could put up there. Many of them are in the HOF. Heck, I could put the whole 1917 team there. How about Bednarik and Van Buren just for starters? Who doesn't love Dawkins? The 1991 dense? #5 and The Ultimate Weapon. How about that 1960 team? It's an impossible task but here's mine:

    Nick, Doug, Graham, Kelce - I just have to go with the guys who beat The GOAT in SBXII!

    I’ll defer to your knowledge of the 1917 team, after all you were there

    We're looking for people that are fundamentally different,” vice president of player personnel Andy Weidl said Saturday night. “The love and passion for football, it's non-negotiable. They're caring, their character, they do the right thing persistently, and they have a relentless playing style that you can see on tape. The motor, it burns hot. You see them finishing plays. They have a team-first mentality. They're selfless individuals.

          I see no problem with these four.

            [QUOTE=Vet Turf;n543873]

            I see no problem with these four either Vet. Let's face the fact that The Eagles put 10 players in the Hall of fame (11 if you count that wingnut Owens) and 49 in the Eagles Hall of Fame and counting. There are no right answers and it's an impossible task. It's a lot fun too remembering players of the past. Even I omitted Bednarik and Van Buren which is ridiculous and I am amending my list. I put too much emphasize on the Super Bowl players and I want to change my list as follows:

            Van Buran
            Bednarik
            McNabb
            Kelce

            I want to cover all Eagle eras

            It's very hard to omit Dawkins and Nick from the mountain. As great a force as he was I don't think White should be on any Eagle list because he played more games for Green Bay than us and ultimately was a Packer. Nick is questionable but his Super Bowl run is hard to ignore. That SB game of his was so epic I have a hard time with that one but Kelce personifies everything a football player should be and owns the city now that Dawk is now gone.
