Aaron Rodgers Reportedly Angers New York Jets With Surprise Vice President News

One team insider called the notion of Rodgers playing and campaign "absurd".

    BYBEN MOCKMAR 13, 2024

The New York Jets are reportedly unhappy with Aaron Rodgers after it was announced he was the frontrunner to be Robert F. Kennedy Jr's running mate for President. “It's absurd to think he could campaign and play simultaneously," one team source told the Daily Mail. “Lots of the coaches and players want Aaron to commit to the team and worry about winning the Super Bowl over a chance to be in the White House," added another.

Aaron Rodgers Reportedly Angers New York Jets With Surprise Vice President News

Rodgers is expected to be QB1 for the Jets when the 2024 season kicks off later this year. The team has already granted Zach Wilson permission to seek a trade and recently signed Tyrod Taylor to back up Rodgers. Rodgers is reportedly being considered by Kennedy alongside former Minnesota Governor Jesse Ventura. Keendy is mounting a long-shot independent bid after withdrawing a long-shot bid against Joe Biden in the Democratic Primary. Kennedy Jr is a noted anti-vaxer and nephew of JFK. However, he has never held political office.

I want to start this by saying I am not an Aaron Rodgers fan. Not a bit.

I do think he is a great QB although maybe not anymore.

Stories like this though are political in nature and target him because he went against the powers that be in regards to the vaccination and his politics overall. Rodgers shouldn't have lied about the vaccination. It was a bad look. But there were a lot of players that did not take the vaccination. DeAndre Hopkins made some pretty direct and inflammatory comments about it as an example. But Rodgers took the most heat for what he has said about it.

So of course the target is put on his back. He deserves a lot of grief and should learn to shut his mouth. I think he probably is eyeing a future in politics when he retires. I think the guy is pretty smart.

I will also say this... we have had some real morons at VP through the years. Rodgers is no better or worse than some of the morons we had in that position. Dan Quayle... Spiro Agnew come to mind. Shoot FDR had 4 VPs when he was President and one of them was crazy and had to undergo shock therapy.

I stopped listening to the media a long time ago on a lot of subjects. Their collective opinion of Aaron Rodgers I pay zero mind to.
You know Darren if you'd have told me 10 years ago that someday I was going to solve the world's energy problems I'd have said your crazy.... now lets drop this big ball of oil out the window.

This is what politicians do. His campaign is not relevant and he needed someone to talk about him. Much like 60 and AW, only a fool takes a VP candidate that is as polarizing as Rodgers and then add in the passions of football fans and its all a media play. Job well done
