It was a reported rumor, which Lurie has denied. Who knows. Lurie was the one who revealed that Campbell was the alternate option, so maybe someone took it that to mean Lurie was also the one making the decision and ran with that rumor, though he later said it was Roseman.

Not sure he's even that. Parker may just be a guy; Campbell has only had one season of being any use at all, and that was about equal to Quez' first full season. The guy with supposedly 4.3 speed had 5.2 yards per reception last year, and was 9.9 in his "good" year. Parker's lowest has been 11.8, and Quez was usually more as well but this past season was 9.5. Granted Campbell and Quez could be victims of small sample size (only 20ish targets) but 5.2 is very difficult to achieve, even with the Giants.
