Remember, they brought in that Lewis Cine kid right at the end of the season. He was a Georgia kid with size. He is 6-2, 200. They would have watched a lot of film on him and know what he can do.
The Vikings drafted him and I think tried to turn him into a corner and it didn't work and then he got hurt.
We aren't in practices so we don't really know what he or Sidney Brown can do. I am on the record for loving Sidney as a ST players but not seeing a fit as a disciplined safety.
I also think they really like Reed Blankenship who will be a free agent next year.
You know Darren if you'd have told me 10 years ago that someday I was going to solve the world's energy problems I'd have said your crazy.... now lets drop this big ball of oil out the window.
CJGJ might have pissed off someone. He had some moments late in the year where he looked like he was ready to get into it with team mates. There are some really talented S in the draft too
We're looking for people that are fundamentally different,” vice president of player personnel Andy Weidl said Saturday night. “The love and passion for football, it's non-negotiable. They're caring, their character, they do the right thing persistently, and they have a relentless playing style that you can see on tape. The motor, it burns hot. You see them finishing plays. They have a team-first mentality. They're selfless individuals.
The word on the street is that the Eagles wanted to free up some cap space. they wouldn't have traded CJ if they didn't have faith in Sydney.
they only cleared about 200k this year, but the cleared a good bit next year. I think the Birds like Andre Sam at S. too

I liked CJG each time they had him. He brought swagger and balls to the D. He was in the team twice and they went SB twice. So I really don’t understand moving on.
Having said that I understand Howie staying ahead of the game and making sure there will be money next year and years to come. I was big on Cine coming out of college but is just a guy in the NFL so far. I like Brown but, like others have said, he plays fast but undisciplined.
Finally, I don’t think much of Green. I will be happy to eat those words when Stout gets him to the pro bowl.
Wait until next year is a terrible philosophy
Hope is not a strategy

Brown does not seem like he can stay healthy and ahs not been much when he played. I hate to even think about it, but does DeJean play safety? Not sure why you pull him after the year he had, but stranger things....
When Frazier was asked about up and coming DBs, he quickly mentioned Sam and I believe Ringo back around SB time

I think CJGJ wanted to be paid and we didn’t have the money. This move therefore just made sense.

Nice farewell post. That and the video that mm posted are not the type things I would’ve expected from CJG. I was a fan but these just put him up another notch IMM.
