I'm pretty sure we're getting the answer solved what happened after Brady left the Pats. He won a Super Bowl and Belichick Coached his way out of the NFL. It looks like he's doing the same thing in North Carolina as he seems to be ruining their program too.

Was it Brady or Belichick?

I certainly think Brady is far more of a lock for HoF than Belichick. I also think Brady was fortunate to wind up in NE with Belichick and that time made him a HoF QB. If he would’ve wound up on some other teams he would have had a routine career, maybe even as a backup. Belichick on the other hand was very very lucky to stumble onto Brady due to injury. Otherwise I think NE might have been just another team.Wait until next year is a terrible philosophy
Hope is not a strategy

Probably both. Doubt Brady becomes Brady without Belichick there. You obviously need a QB to win, and the Patriots did not once Brady left. McDaniels looked like he was bringing Mac Jones along OK his rookie year but once he left, it was curtains for Jones. I think Belichick did strugge with non-McDaniels OCs, and definitely when training a new QB. Belichick did not have to do that for near 20 years and may have forgotten how. Also, his drafting was bad. Not a very good GM.
By the time he changed teams (and long before), Brady would have been good for most any coach that knew enough to get out of the way. But not if he had gone to other teams in the first place.
