we need to stay in first till the bye and get rested upWe're looking for people that are fundamentally different,” vice president of player personnel Andy Weidl said Saturday night. “The love and passion for football, it's non-negotiable. They're caring, their character, they do the right thing persistently, and they have a relentless playing style that you can see on tape. The motor, it burns hot. You see them finishing plays. I'm so confused how we thought a team who won the Super Bowl could just live on Kevin Patullo's offensive schemes. That's the height of hubris.

I love Fangio. He just doesn't have the pieces right now. You can read between the lines when he speaks.
The offense.....no excuses. Other teams are fighting through injuries and we still have a ton of weapons. I like Patullo. But, I wish we would get him some experienced help right now.....something like Co-OC's. There is some knowledgeable talent available to hire for this year.

I read that they are using this little mini bye to scout themselves and see if they can work some of these problems out like they did last year during their bye week. Of course they also have their actual bye week coming up pretty soon too. We all know that Howie will not stand still. He loves to be active and he's going to go after somebody. Word is that he has been talking to Miami and we have until November to make a deal. Minnesota has terrible against the run this season, partly because they have emphasized the pass rush so much and also they are really banged up on long the defensive line like we are. Hopefully we can get Barkley going this week."Hey Giants, who's your Daddy?"

There are lots and lots of people who don’t have jobs that could watch film and give opinion on what is wrong (or right for that matter). Just have to identify the guy who Sirianni or Howie or Jeffrey trusts.
But there is never harm is getting an outside look.Wait until next year is a terrible philosophy
Hope is not a strategy

You are correct ND. I figured that an outside voice would give them a different perspective. My thinking was that someone from outside of Sirianni's circle, who could easily marry Sirianni's concepts to his own. Kinda like what Moore did last year. Loeffler made TE Fannin the focal point of Bowling Green's offense when he was his coach. Fannin put up big numbers as a result, even despite the fact that he was new to the TE position. I haven't seen any Bowling Green games from last year, so I don't know what he ran out of (2-TE, Pro-set, Spread, etc.). And I guess Latu is the closest they'd have to being a TE/FB hybrid like Fannin. Lurie has stated that he'd like to bring back the FB in the offense, so maybe that might mean more 2 RB sets under center and pistol if that's what Loeffler ran. I figured since Loeffler's already in the building, they could just ask him, if they haven't already. He's been in college coaching for 14 yrs, if I recall. Maybe longer.
I liked some of the stuff the Broncos did against the Eagles in their run offense, specifically the heavy formations with the extra OL in and the TE. I wonder if the Eagles would be open to trying something along those lines when the situation may warrant. AJ, Smitty, Goedert, Hurts of course, Barkley. Then 6 OL.

Thanks, ND. I do tend to talk in a circle at times, LOL.
What is the guy's name they signed...the undersized center from NC State...Nick something or other. He is 5ft, 11in and 270lbs. Strong as hell with a low center of gravity. They stashed him on the PS i believe. There must be some kind of plan for him. I don't know how effective he'd be as a backup center, but at a goalline FB, or an extra OL in a heavy formation...hmmm.
