  • More Trotters

The Trotter linebacker liniage continues with Josiah at the University of Missouri. He's right in the middle and is outstanding.

At one time it was said he would be better than his brother. Always bummed they didn’t go to linebacker U
Wait until next year is a terrible philosophy
    Hope is not a strategy

Actually saw the younger Trotter play today for Mizzou vs Vandy. He was all over the field. Mizzou is a super physical team. Really good brand of football

Yes that's the game I saw him too. He's a regular chip off the old block. That was a great game too!

Game was phenomenal. Atmosphere at the stadium was off the hook. Huge props to Mizzou. Lost their quarterback and battled and battled on the road. Ahmad Hardy is Marshawn Lynch clone. Just a beast of a RB.

Yes, the freshman came in and played great. His game is night and day different from the starter though. It should be interesting to see how Missouri sdjusts this weekend and if they continue their excellent season. Man, this is the most competitive SEC that I can ever remember!

As a Kansas guy, I hate Mizzou. That said, Trotter is impressive. Wish he had stayed out of Mizzou. I think maybe he transferred from West Virginia.
You know Darren if you'd have told me 10 years ago that someday I was going to solve the world's energy problems I'd have said your crazy.... now lets drop this big ball of oil out the window.

College football is turning into Pro Football Free agency. At least these very good players who will never play pro ball are making some money now. Quarterbacks are making $1,000,000 a year to switch schools. It's a heck of a lot easier to turn your programs around when you can buy players now. Some of these kids are switching schools two or three times now and they are raiding the junior colleges too. The winner again is the NFL because the colleges are actually doing a lot of their scouting for them. I don't think that you will be finding many diamonds in the ruff in the draft from these small schools anymore.

                  60... so true.

I don't begrudge the kids making some money... even millions. Brian Kelly and James Franklin both are getting close or above $50 million to NOT coach their teams for the next few years so how the heck can you blame a star player for wanting to be paid.

That said, I think they need to reign in the moving around. What they should do is make it so NIL deals are 2 year deals. You have to go to the first school 2 years. You can't "sit out" if you are "hurt" or transfer in the middle of the season. That is happening now. Kids are flat not playing if they don't like their deal. If they do that, they should have to give all the NIL money back. When you go to your second school, you should have to stay there 2 more years. And then, if you are on schedule to graduate in 6 years you can go play one more year somewhere else maybe as a graduate senior. That is how I'd reign this in.

College sports is cutting its own throat with this one year here and there crap. College basketball is really becoming less popular because of it and eventually it is going to filter into football. Big time programs are never going to suffer but the second and third tier are. And that's a problem.

I love college sports but I really love watching schools in my region play. KU and K-State played last weekend and KU got beat again but I look forward to that game. My wife went to Iowa State. We love watching them play football and basketball. I watch the teams in my region play girls hoops, volleyball, baseball, softball. I want to support the school in my region.

So whatever solution they come up with they need to take into account that the lesser important conferences need some lob too. As do the smaller sports. I hope they get it figured out long term.

I think what's going to eventually happen is that each team is going to have their own little professional team. At that point you wonder how invested the students will to be in their teams. Eventually unions are going to get into the act and then who knows what will happen.
