For the second time this season, Jordan Davis is being recognized with a Player of the Week award.

The Philadelphia Eagles defensivie tackle was previously named NFC Special Teams Player of the Week for blocking the Los Angeles Rams’ game-winning field goal attempt and returning it for a touchdown in Week 3.

Now Davis is being honored as NFC Defensive Player of the Week (for the first time in his career) for blocking three of Jared Goff’s pass attempts at the line of scrimmage in the Eagles’ Week 11 win over the Detroit Lions. One of those tips created an interception for Cooper DeJean, which ultimately led to three points for the offense via a short Jake Elliott field goal make.

Davis is currently tied with four-time first-team All-Pro defensive tackle Cameron Heyward for leading all NFL defensive linemen in pass deflections with six. Speaking to the developmental leap that Davis has made in 2025, he only notched five pass deflections over the 55 games (including playoffs) he played before this season.

One would think the Eagles are feeling good about the decision to pick up the fifth-year option in Davis’ contract. The big man is currently signed through 2026 and it’s possible the team will look to sign him to a long-term extension.

was coming to post this elsewhere, but this seems like a good place to share. Great, inciteful interview

We're looking for people that are fundamentally different,” vice president of player personnel Andy Weidl said Saturday night. “The love and passion for football, it's non-negotiable. They're caring, their character, they do the right thing persistently, and they have a relentless playing style that you can see on tape. The motor, it burns hot. You see them finishing plays. They have a team-first mentality. They're selfless individuals.

Let’s not forget Davis is playing for a contract that goes beyond rookie dollars.
Wait until next year is a terrible philosophy
      Hope is not a strategy
      RIP

Did you watch the video ND? This guy is all about team and what you want in a player! This video is so refreshing. He said he loves the guys on the team so much that he got in shape for them and he didn't want to let them down and wants to stay here forever! I am so happy this was posted because I watched this last night and I couldn't believe my ears when I heard, but I forgot to post it. Thank you, MM!

I’m no saying he is all about the money. His attitude has come a long way from when he was a rookie. As has his knowledge of how to play the position. But we should never forget players play for money. They can love their teammates all they want but they all play for money.

Of course you're right ND, but it was really cool to hear how tight the group was and how he much enjoyed playing for the Eagles organization. I don't think I've ever seen a guy so enthusiastic about playing for a team, especially a guy pushing himself away from the dinner table for his brothers. You might get this kind of talk when teams get to the playoffs and everybody's all lovey Dovey, but I've never heard it mid-season before. Like I said it was refreshing.
