  • Eagles vs The Cowboys obersvations

Worst lose this team has had in a long time. Dallas is inferior to them and they should have stomped them.

    1. Hurts - Bad game, bad sack at the end, you have to throw that ball. Didn't turn the ball over but he has to take more chances in games like this.

    2. Barkley - Horrible game, his fumble in points territory cost them the game as far as I am concerned. He should be on the bench much more next week. We need to start seeing more of Bigsby he is quicker to the what little hole the offensive line is opening. They have to get the run game going.

    3. Offensive Line - Another terrible game. Penalties, missed blocks. At some point changes need to be made. Stoutland is suppose to be a genius, something is way off and its not just not having Lane Johnson

    4. Defense - The unit was terrible today. They can't stop the run right up the middle, Fangio refuses to make adjustments. You are going to lose many more games like this one if he doesn't figure out how to stop the run. Williams isn't even that good of a back. They just have no answer in the middle of the field right now. They let Dak throw for another 400 yards against them including marching right down the field for an easy FG to win it. We can blame the offense for not scoring but it comes down to the defense has to hold there and soft zones don't cut it. That is the problem I have had with Fangios scheme from the beginning. Its rare we win these type of games when a team has under 2 minutes and just needs a FG to win. At that point you have to blitz blitz blitz and hope the QB makes a mistake. Sitting back with the group of receivers Dallas has its an instaloss.

    5. Cooper Dejean is not an Outside corner. He got burned all over the field by Pickens today. Worst game of his career and that is because Fangio played him out of position. I would rather see Ringo out there getting burned and DeJean cover the TE. It gives Dak one less option, having Syndney Brown covering him and not Dejean cost us the game. Bad move by Fangio.

    5. Penalties - I am not going to rip the officials as most of penalties called were legit. 19 called penalties, 16 accepted. That is an embarrassment. Changes need to happen. Latu should be cut or not used on teams anymore he and Sydney Brown are averaging a penalty a game. Today they had 2 a piece. Its costing them way too much in field position. Just about every offensive player had a penalty called on them. I don't get all of WR false start penalties. Its out of control. They have to play perfect otherwise the officials are going to be gunning for them.

Overall a win today and they would have been in the cat bird seat. As it is now they have came way back to the pack., Chicago is going to hood stomp them on Friday. I am sorry this has been brewing most of the year. They are averaging 10 penalties a game and most of them are on the offense and special teams which is killing drives and effecting field positron. Today they added in turnovers which they normally don't do. The Saquan one was a killer. One that an example has to be made. I am sorry at some point, talk is cheap, its about action. Its put up or shut up time. AJ Brown nice game catching the ball, the false start killed them at the end of the game. Each of the olineman had a penalty called on them today. I don't think I have seen that before but its true. I mean its a mess. Yes we can blame the Offensive coordinator but he is not out there holding, false starting, missing blocks fumbling the football, holding the ball and not throwing it giving the WR a chance. My blame of Fangio is because he is not putting his players in a position to succeed. Different animal than Patullo.
Were from Philly F in Philly no one likes us we DON'T CARE!

When you jump out to a 21 point lead, you have to play some really shitty football to lose. And that’s exactly what they did.

I couldn't believe what I was watching. But I don't know why I was surprised by the offensive miscues. I had a sinking feeling that this game would get away from them when they couldn't make the Cowboys pay for their last turnover. After the half, when they didn't score, it really set in.

I don't know if it is injuries or what, but the O Line does not look sharp at all. No push in the run game and not holding the line in pass pro. And the penalties.

And the Keystone Kops thing in the secondary...

We never should’ve let it get close but there was a lot of home cooking today.

As bad as the OL played (and they certainly did) I’m not putting it on them. Total team and coaching loss.
Hurts had time to throw many times. And he had time to scramble many times. That last sack wasn’t a one second bull rush, he sat there too long. Hurts missed AJ wide open on an out that he should’ve completed. He missed Devonta on a dagger that was over the wrong shoulder. And he let AJ disappear into the atmosphere for a significant portion of the game. Watch all 22 when you get it. I saw one play in particular where he scrambled and could’ve had AJ, who was on an out, turn upfield and he would be wide open.
Defense wasn’t good but O didn’t help them. Neither did ST. But injuries got them. Jackson, who isn’t very good, going out hurt because DeJean went outside and Carter came in. Dejean can play outside but not when moved in middle of game and going against one of the top WRs. Blankenship going out brought in Brown who isn’t really reliable as to what he is going to do on any given
play. And it took the experienced guy who can get info into players heads.
Dallas has a good O and damn good QB/WR combo. 24 points isn’t brutal. Scoring 21 in first 20 minutes and not scoring in next 40 minutes is brutal.
Wait until next year is a terrible philosophy
          Hope is not a strategy
          RIP

Well, I don't know. They played great in the first half. There was a beautiful pockets and Jalen had all day to throw. Then halftime came and we thought we had the game won. Dallas had other ideas and got on a roll and kicked our freaking asses. If we didn't help them out with a flag on every other down, we still might have beat them.

D line was so good since Philips. They were just invisible today. I had to keep looking to see if Philips was even playing.

I don’t know what to think about this game.

3 things stood out to me.

                1. Saquon is losing his footing a lot. He looks like he has lost a step. That 2nd down play late. He HAS to run through contact there and get the first down and he slips. That was very unlike last year.

                2. that OPI on Smitty completely changed the game. We would have had second and very short there at the +40. Phantom call. Even Brady said it was. The officials are just too involved in these games. The game swung on that call. Birds were going to score there I believe and go back up 14. We had the momentum.

                3. Nick has become too conservative. 4th and 3 at midfield and he punts. 56 yard FG. This is not how you win in the NFL now. You score TDs.
You know Darren if you'd have told me 10 years ago that someday I was going to solve the world's energy problems I'd have said your crazy.... now lets drop this big ball of oil out the window.

                  A few more things:

You can't fumble the ball in that situation Saquon and you can't field the ball at the 5 yard line either. If Saquon is the best back in the league.... and he isn't anymore. Gibbs, Taylor, Achane, Cook, Robinson and a few others have passed him now... you just can't fumble the ball there. And I understand that Gibson is hurt now. That's fine. CUT HIS ASS with an injury settlement. The kid can't play. He hasn't really had a big return. He's made some questionable decisions on catching punts and yesterday was a great example. We dodged that bullet because for some reason the Cowboys went for it on 4th and goal.

Finally and this is the big one.

If all of us can watch this team week after week and we know what's coming. And let's face is most of us do. Than a skilled coaching staff who spends all week watching the Eagles last 6-8 games. They are going to know what is coming. I can tell by pre snap alignment a lot of times what we are going to do. And the DL can just blow up the play with that information. A few weeks ago a lot was made about Ojomo yelling inside zone in the packers game on the 4th and one. We are living that every week. If I know what the likely play call or route combination is than I can guarantee you the DC does for the opponent. Where the hell is a bootleg? Where is a screen pass better than what we run now. Our screen game is the worst in the league. We ran an end around to Smitty. Where has that been all year? Where are the shallow crossing routes? Where was the line up under center yesterday? Why not put Bigsby and Saquon in the backfield together in a split back set and make them guess.

What the FUCK are we doing.

Both in backfield Ha. I was talking to my brother and said same thing. They aren’t going to sit Barkley so throw some two back sets in there or put him in slot. Bigsby had one carry and it went for 8. Need more than Saquan back there.

Gipson is so stupid. He does dumb shit all the time and we put him in at a crucial time. Someone posted a stat that he fumbles once every 15 touches. That was his 15th touch as an eagle.

Gipson is who he is, a moron so that’s on the coaches. A slow blinker.

So much to digest! The Oline is just bad this year. Steen is not and will never be Becton! Everyone else is just bad this year. Injuries perhaps but the execution and penalties are not Injuries. It's poor play. The running game is a disaster yet on 3rd and 2 you HAVE to make a statement and RUN THE DAMN BALL!

Defense was not good after Reed went out. We kept Sydney Brown over just about anyone! I mean my goodness he is a walking penalty. This is not a wake up call! This team needs a change at OC and some guys to held accountable

Looks like he took too much of a beating last year and has slowed down, but he still needs to play though. He may not be the same player that he was, but he is still an excellent blocker and with a beat up line I want him in there.
