  • Playoff Seeding thoughts

I would not play the starters Sunday. We stood down last year and won the Super Bowl. We need to be fully healthy heading into the playoffs. Sit 10-12 of our best players. There is a chance that Washington lays down on purpose here. We did it in 2020 on Sunday Night Football and ended up getting DeVonte Smith because of it. It was the best move the franchise ever made IMO to decide to lose that game on purpose. My guess is Washington is going to try to lose this game. It means nothing to them. Dan Quinn is safe as the HC. Rest our guys.

Personally, I want the Rams in the first round and here's why. They might be the best team in the NFC based on their body of work but we can beat them. We will get them on our field and we should be healthy. I believe one way or the other we are going to have to get through the Rams. Let's play them in the first round. If we lose. That's fine. We go one and out and we don't play the extra games. We rest up for next year. If we do win, we get a boost of confidence and head to Chicago probably.

I say we head to Chicago but Green Bay with a healthy Jordan Love can go to Chicago and win. They had them beaten 10 days ago and let Chicago come back.

I am not afraid of San Francisco or Seattle now. Seattle looks beatable. San Francisco's defense is trash.

Let's play the Rams in round one off what I hope the team basically takes as a bye week.

Just get to the playoffs healthy. This is STILL the best roster in football.
You know Darren if you'd have told me 10 years ago that someday I was going to solve the world's energy problems I'd have said your crazy.... now lets drop this big ball of oil out the window.

Think I am starting to come around to the 2nd seed not being that big of a difference than the 3rd this year. Would anyone be shocked if Sea, SF, or Chi all lost before the NFCCG anyway.

rest who you can. We can win anyway

I am really on the fence with this. I think Green Bay is done, even with Jordan Love. Would much rather play them than SF or the Rams right now. I don't think there is any way we play Seattle in the opening round, even if they lose the #1 seed to SF.

At the same time, I want to see some guys get rested.

I like the idea of resting Hurts, Barkley and Lane. Not sure about the others, especially on defense. I think there is going to be some scoreboard watching tomorrow.

I certainly wouldn't play Carter on Sunday. The only treatment that he got when he was on IR was cortisone shots in each shoulder and rest. The defense has been excellent without him, but with him they are probably the best in the NFL. I think the offense could use the work, but they've been so bad all year I don't see what difference another week would make. I could see sitting down some offensive linemen because we are very thin there and play McKee.

I want McKee to go off and become extremely valuable
We're looking for people that are fundamentally different,” vice president of player personnel Andy Weidl said Saturday night. “The love and passion for football, it's non-negotiable. They're caring, their character, they do the right thing persistently, and they have a relentless playing style that you can see on tape. The motor, it burns hot. You see them finishing plays. They have a team-first mentality. They're selfless individuals.

We cannot play Seattle in the first round. They are either the #1 seed or #5. #6 seed is either the 49ers or the Rams, but of course we can in theory get the 2 seed and play Green Bay first. We would then have a home game against one of those other teams if we make it past that -- by far the biggest attraction of the #2 seed. I think we can beat the Commanders, but I'm not holding out much hope for Detroit winning on the road.

That Chicago -Detroit line is really weird. Chicago is only favored by three points at home. Why, It's a meaningless game for Detroit?

I’m not so sure it is meaningless for Detroit. I think Campbell and crew have been embarrassed this year and going out on a high note spanking Chitown would salve some of the year. I think it might be more
                meaningless to Chicago
Wait until next year is a terrible philosophy
                Hope is not a strategy

Plus I highly doubt Det wants to see Ben Johnson win a game against them.
