This absolutely had to happen. The offense was dysfunctional. Anyone should have been able to see that. Penalties were terrible. OC doesn’t commit them but they are a reflection of the training and culture. The flow and rhythm were very very obviously not good. Hell they are at the one yard line with the back up QB and two very talented running backs and he asks the backup QB to throw two passes. You can go on and on.
Friends are friends but football is a business. Not sure if it was Nick or Howie or Jefffey but this was an obvious call.Wait until next year is a terrible philosophy
Hope is not a strategy
RIP

I don't think it was all his fault but he definitely was one of the key factors. Go look at Nick Foles breakdown of the final series of the season... especially the final play. You know Darren if you'd have told me 10 years ago that someday I was going to solve the world's energy problems I'd have said your crazy.... now lets drop this big ball of oil out the window.

I am leaning into this Kliff Kingsbury talk now. Kingsburg doesn't seem like he is interested in being a head coach anymore. He made a bunch of money. Daboll also seems like a good fit because the only place he could conceivably go to be a head coach now would be Buffalo. Those are my two. Kingsburg especially because he is a passing expert and that would maybe get AJ back in and happy. I don't want to have to eat that cap hit.You know Darren if you'd have told me 10 years ago that someday I was going to solve the world's energy problems I'd have said your crazy.... now lets drop this big ball of oil out the window.

Kingsbury's offenses seemed to start great many years then die off as the season continued. As in, he didn't re-adjust to adjustments the defenses were making. Until last year anyways, but he had Jayden Daniels creating lots of stuff for him. And they were pretty consistently bad this past season.Originally posted by andrewaters View PostI am leaning into this Kliff Kingsbury talk now. Daboll has worked with Sirianni and Hurts before, so they know him. Not sure his personality will fit as well here, but better as coordinator than head coach. Agreed he won't have a lot of interest as a head coach for a bit.
Patullo may well be back. Probably depends on who they hire as OC, and if they want Patullo back in some capacity (or have a way to give him a position that doesn't interfere with the new OC). Sirianni clearly likes him, and he's probably good at some aspect of coaching. Just not designing a full offense and especially not calling plays (he seemed to only want to get creative inside the red zone -- those plays should have been way more often and more places). Maybe he can be a "red zone specialist" -- that was one aspect he did very well, although it was set up by mind-numbing boredom the rest of the drive so other teams were not expecting them. Not sure that tradeoff is worth it.

This is my #1 reason for saying no to KK. Imagine our first half of games being good and then the offense shits the bed in 2nd half being played out but as a whole season. There's a reason why Washington didn't keep him.Originally posted by FairOaks View Post

I'd like to see Patullo stay. I think he was hemmed in by some of the things Jalen Hurts can't do. Jalen is 100% a system QB. The system has to be limited a bit to accommodate him. Jalen lacks arm strength and his computer doesn't always fire quite as fast as you'd like. He is not Lamar but he is not Stafford either. He is basically Darnold, Baker, Tua in his diagnosis. So you do have to limit what you give him a touch. And like I said he doesn't have the arm strength or extreme athleticism to overcome that extra click on diagnosis.
If Daboll could come in here and expand the offense a bit. Patullo might be able to help and learn on the job a bit more. Patullo had never had the play sheet before. I hope he stays or ends up maybe in Kansas City and can learn under AR.You know Darren if you'd have told me 10 years ago that someday I was going to solve the world's energy problems I'd have said your crazy.... now lets drop this big ball of oil out the window.
