  • Hurts

Didn’t read it but evidently there is a report in The Athletic I believe which again sends the narrative that Hurts isn’t a good locker room guy. That has been reported before and I tended to believe that. Hurts is aloof. He isn’t one of the guys. He goes to dinner with the likes of Michael Jordan and Tiger Woods to discuss things. You don’t see him chatting and ribbing with the guys in the sideline. He sits by himself. I believe you rarely even see him sitting and talking to QB coach or OC although I know he must at some times.
I had high expectations for him this past year but I felt he regressed significantly. I sincerely hope they get a new OC who changes all that.
Wait until next year is a terrible philosophy
    Hope is not a strategy

I don't think there are many quarterbacks who are one of the guys. A quarterback is more like a coach on the field. He's also married so I doubt if he would be out partying with the single guys. I think it's a non issue.

Well there has been smoke before that he isn’t well liked in the locker room. I hope Sirianni addresses it so that it doesn’t become an issue

It takes two to tango. Being a veteran QB that is liked takes teammates who understand the position and are comfortable with themselves. AJ is the problem and I have no doubt he’s brought some with him.

the tough part is that Jalen is an average QB. So when you have stuff like this and your play is not great, there is smoke to the fire.

this offense badly needs an injection of youth. Way too much has been drafted on D.

I believe there is some truth in this. But I also think this is Kevin Patullo or people in his camp leaking this out to deflect from Patullo's faults.
You know Darren if you'd have told me 10 years ago that someday I was going to solve the world's energy problems I'd have said your crazy.... now lets drop this big ball of oil out the window.

Hurts has always appeared to be a bit aloof. He may lead, but it appears to be by example and he has a general dislike to get caught up in the drama and bottom feeding of many news outlets and team issues. The concern really comes down to having like minded teammates that want to be led in that way.

Hurts works as hard or harder at his job than anyone on the team. Anyone that isn't willing to follow him isn't a professional. These hit pieces predictably come out every time we have shitty coaching.
AJ Brown should have been benched after the Denver game. And if not, after the GB game. He checked out, pouted, gave up on the field. And we kept putting him out there despite him giving zero effort. We lost the Denver game because he quit on a deep route that would have been an easy TD. We lost the Chargers game because of multiple drops and giving up on plays. Those two wins would have put us in position to play for the 1 seed. He didn't even fight for the ball to try and draw PI all season and was a big baby in the playoff loss.
Sirianni is supposed to hold his players and coaches accountable. He failed miserably at this all season.
Hurts isn't a perfect player or a maybe a perfect locker room guy but he's a damn professional. We've seen what he can do with a competent coach and game plan.
