Yeah - I was waiting for the prices to just plummet and was able to get this unit for under $1k. Which was awesome.

      Sweetness.

The bitch was installing mine. I had my brother in law help me and it took the better part of a day to attach the mounting bracket to the wall, run the wires behind it and set up a seperate power line. I almost fell for the monster cable myth. The best buy salesjerk almost had me plunking down >$200 for monster cables. I decided to wait and did some research. I got my HDMI cables on line for $13 that are the equivalent to the monster cable $200 ones.

Crap. I bought my monster cables for $90. DAMMIT!

Anyway. My close friend is a contractor and he and his coworker (electrician) will help wall mount. But I'm not looking forward to it. What did you pay for the wall mount?

Re: Sony Bravia 40 inch (HDTV)

For anyone looking for a "cheap" HD experience, I just bought a new Dell desktop computer and I installed a high def TV tuner for $100. I got a 22" high def monitor for it for an extra $80 bringing my total investment for a "small screen" to less than $200. Granted it's only a 22" monitor but I'm only sitting three feet away from it. I get the high def signal via an over the air antenna but the picture makes both my satellite and cable pictures look like crap! Since Fox broadcasts over the air HD I'll be able to watch the cheerleaders, I mean the game, in perfect clarity. Once I have the renovations to my house done I'll be plunking down bucks for the big screen, but until then this will have to do.

BP - return the monster cables. Over short distances they are crap. There was an experiment and people couldn't tell the video quality difference between a wire hanger and a monster cable.

                  what, you mean for cables?

unless for some reason you're running a 25 ft HDMI cable from your dvd player to your tv, just get any old HDMI cable from meritline.com and you'll be fine.

What's your set up look like? Any home theater system? HD/Blu Ray player?

By the way, people should post photos of their Eagles watching set up. It'd be pretty interesting.

If it's nice enough, please send address so I can come watch the game.

I just bought these for $15 with shipping off AMAZON.COM. I went on a ton of websites and read the message boards saying MONSTER was a scam and this will work perfectly fine.

Thanks for the heads up - I'll be returning those cables to Circuit City shortly...

I would suggest you return the 40" set and go MUCH bigger. Unless money IS an object.

Yeah, my little 42" is in the bedroom. LOL! Go bigger, Biggie!!!!!!!!!

And yeah, Monster cables are a joke. I bought my HDMI and other cables on line. For 1/4 the price.

plus you know what they say about people who have 60" TVs...
