I read an article when they announced that they were putting him on the reserve list that he is allowed to practice with the team the second half of the season.

I wonder why JI wasn't PUPed? Maybe you can't do that with rookies?

I'm pretty sure the PUP and the non-football injury reserve list are the same thing.

Edit - I was wrong.


The PUP list is for players that were injured before camp and never practiced with the team. Players can come off this list at any time.

The non-football injury reserve list, is for players that get hurt before the season, work out with the team but can't actually play. Players on this list can begin practicing with the team in Week 6 and by week 9 the team must decide to IR him, cut/trade him, or add him to the active roster.
