Here's what will happen - so you can just ignore the next 45 days right now.
- We will get relatively hot the last week of August through September and win the NL East by 2-3 games.
- We will then enter the playoffs and fans will forget this week ever even happened
- Cole Hamels will go to the mound vs. CC Sabathia in game 1 of the NLDS and lose a 2-0 game
- Ben Sheets will shut us down and Moyer will be average in game 2
- Fat Joe Blanton will pitch somewhat decent and our offense will have one big game and we'll win game 3
- Brett Myers will get shelled in we lose game 4 and lose series 3-1
We lose in the first round again to just sit there and take it as Gillick resigns, Amaro takes over and Amaro feeds us all a giant pile of cow manure about how we couldn't bid on Sabathia in free agency because we already invested a great deal in Brad Lidge and Joe Blaton is only 28 and will get better.
Also - Carrasco is the young gun we've been waiting for...you will need to prepare yourself for this now. Please don't wait till Nov/Dec when Amaro and the Phillies owners start to pound you with this garbage.
Maybe - if we're really really nice - the Phillies will give Moyer another year. Awesome!!!!
