Eagles had a great draft, picked up nice players in FA (Andrews, Weaver) and made two great trades for Peters and Hobbs. A+!!Official Driver of the Eagles Bandwagon!!!

A-, happy with a lot of it! Some good pickups in FA and trading, but we can't judge the draft until about two years from now anyway.......and took off some points because they cut Dawk loose.
Maybe this means that DMac will now agree to delay talks about a contract extension "because the Eagles did go and improve themselves via free agency, trades, and the draft.""Philly fans are great....It's the only place where you pull up on the bus and you've got the grandfather, the grandmother, the kids and the grandkids - everybody flicking you off. Gave a B b/c they lost Dawk and only added Sean Jones on a 1 year deal. Not sure we're going to get the same production out of that position.
While I'm also a bit skeptical at LB, I realize you can't address every position every offseason, so I'm good with the rest of the moves.

Gave them an A. IMO, they couldn't have handled the draft any better than what they did. Getting Peters and Ellis Hobbs were great moves.
Letting Dawkins get away and replacing him with Sean Jones was inexcusable, but they did much better than I expected in every other transaction.

I gave the grade an A when you consider Stacy Andrews,Peters,Jones, and the guy I think will make a HUGE difference is Weaver.
Combine that with a great draft(Maclin & McCoy are welcome additions)and I gotta give credit to the FO.Yes,the Dawkins deal could have been handled better but in the end,Dawk gets $7.2 mil from Denver this year, can't blame him for heading West.Just give me ONE before I go!

I gave them a B+. The Dawk Debacle knocked them down a bit. And not taking Donald Brown was a mistake. He's going to be fantastic in Indy.
McCoy is the key to this whole thing since everyone (even me) thinks Maclin is going to be a real player. If McCoy turns out to be a legit NFL running back, this draft will be an A (assuming Peters and Hobbs work out as expected).

A+ Unlike others, letting Dawkins walk does not drop them. Demps will be better than what Dawkins will be. He lost a step, so I expect him to lose another step. Demps is faster, can hit and is tough, so I have no problem with the decision.
I'd give them an F it this poll was about emotional picks, since we dont have Dawkins and many other players I like. But this is about what an organization did with a roster that was full of aged pro-bowlers.......they improved in three of those spots. LBer is the only position where they should have upgraded and weren't able to (I hope Jodan gets better).Pedro

It has to be an A. Getting Andrews & Peters and having Maclin fall to them were huge for the offseason. Add in the their patience and luck in getting McCoy in the second and their offense was better already. Hopefully Ingram will pan out and if so, they are really set for another 5 years. They are suddenly young on both sides of the ball. Great offseason.

Gave them an A.
This team IMO got better, younger and deeper---- after going to the NFCCG again.
IMO, Health will be the only big variable this year, not talent.
I also wish Dawk was here, but i also think the team did what was right, Dawk was not worth 7.5 million and he is slowing down so i think they bit the bullet and did the right thing for the team, maybe not the fans, but for the team.

Sacrilegeous I know -Jones will be a better all around safety this year than Dawk would have been for us...
The personnel on offense has pretty much been COMPLETETLY reworked and we will be measurably better for it this year and for years to come.
I think they've managed to take a team that went to the NFC championship game last year and make it measurably better and ALOT younger. What else could you possibly ask for in the off season?

I just want to point out one thing. I keep hearing about a championship level team last year, that got younger. Isn't that a double edged sword?
To what do you attribute our stong finish and run last year? To me it was a measure of the leadership and maturity on this team. And I think we lost some of that with Dawk, and possibly Tra, Runyan and Sheldon in particular. Will we have the same cohesiveness to ball u when the going gets tough? It saved our bacon last season. How long does it take this young team to "gel", and develop new leadership? I don't doubt that we PHYSICALLY improved and got younger. But that is not all that counts during a LOOOOONG season.

Dear Devil's AdvoCate,
I'd suggest that new leadership comes only when the opportunity presents itself as the old leaves. I think there is a definite opportunity for defensive players such as Trent Cole, Stewart Bradley and Bunkley or Patterson to become more vocal now that Dawk is gone. We still have #5 & #36 on the offensive side of the ball as well.
Sincerely,
Not worried
