  • RIP - Robo

Many of you who have ties to Philaphans may remember our old friend robo. Jack McDonough passed on the 4th of July. He was a kind voice and devoted Philadelphia sports fan. He also kept up with many of us in online sports games.

Robo dates back to the philly.com posting days as well which was the internet chat beginning for many of us here. He'll be missed for sure.

    RIP Robo

That's for the update,,, Jack was a great guy. A true Philly fan. I had the pleasure of meeting Jack and his son(some business in Vieques) and they are good salt of the earth people. This is a guy I will grieve for!

    RIP Jack.

Wow, that sucks, I kinda wondered why I haven't seen him post in a while. Never met him personally, but always thought he was a level-headed poster.

      RIP Jack

PS: It's hard to believe I've been doing this whole message board thing for over 10+ years now. But it has, I started going to the philly.com boards in the summer of '98.

Thanks for the note. Didn't know him outside of boards but that's sad.

My grandfather and Robo worked together as boilermen at Allied Chemical in Bridesburg for over 20 years. When my granddad passed earlier this year, Jack came to the wake along with his wife and three other co-workers of my granddad.

I met Jack through Philaphans and we met up in person a few times. Salt of the earth, one of the nicest guys you'd ever want to meet.

His posts about having a colonostomy done convinced me to have it done. The results were very good, the peace of mind I have from knowing where I stand is a good feeling. Thanks Robo.
