Gaither Leaves Practice With Knee Sprain

Linebacker Omar Gaither, who is competing for a starting spot at both weakside linebacker and middle linebacker, left this afternoon's practice with a knee sprain, according to Eagles director of media relations Derek Boyko.

There's no word on how long Gaither will be out for, although the sprain is not considered to be major.

    Monday Practice Update

Here are some notes from the practice field ... Brian Westbrook is looking great in the team drill. He's working with the starters. The pads are on and this is Westbrook's first full-go workout ... Here's a surprise, with Trent Cole's shoulder injury, Jason Babin is running with the first-team defense at right defensive end.

UPDATE: Kevin Kolb is not practicing. Adam DiMichele is running the third-team offense ... After a couple of scraps, head coach Andy Reid wants the third-team offense and the third-team defense to go live against each other for two plays. Eldra Buckley gained 5 yards on the first carry and 8 on the second.

Kolb is going to the IR... I'm telling you right now.

And Westy will be fine until week 3.

I'm not worried about Gaither. Knees get tweaked so he will sit on the sidelines for a few days and be fine.
You know Darren if you'd have told me 10 years ago that someday I was going to solve the world's energy problems I'd have said your crazy.... now lets drop this big ball of oil out the window.

Just a hunch there, Dre? I want to try and find a good update on Kolb's injury status. But if he goes to IR, it opens up a spot at QB. And makes the Kolb selection sems even more worthless.....

AW, I'll take that bet on Kolb. He'll be practicing next week.

They could IR Kolb as a way or protecting him. Of course, Kolb would be BS. Interesting.
