  • Heard Tra may lose his spot to a Rook

so just how good was he ? A lot of people thought he was a big loss.
We're looking for people that are fundamentally different,” vice president of player personnel Andy Weidl said Saturday night. “The love and passion for football, it's non-negotiable. They're caring, their character, they do the right thing persistently, and they have a relentless playing style that you can see on tape. The motor, it burns hot. You see them finishing plays. They have a team-first mentality. They're selfless individuals.

I certainly didn't. It was painful at times last year watching Tra and Runyan both.

Trent Cole abused Tra in that Jacksonville game. I would not be surprised if Tra lost his starting job

Earlier in camp there were reports of Tra having a great camp. Looks like that luster may have worn off with a few preseason games for teams to show they can beat him.
Wait until next year is a terrible philosophy
        Hope is not a strategy
        RIP

It is a big loss when he's not adequately replaced

            * Ask 32 NFL General Managers if they'd rather have Tra Thomas or Jason Peters and you'd get 32 answers that said Jason Peters.

Give the dude one regular season game at least.

              Are you serious?

Just to give you some perspective, I saw an article a month ago where someone put all of the players in the NFC East in a pool, and picked the Top 10 players they would want to have if they were building a franchise for long term success. Peters was the first player taken from the Eagles, and I believe 3rd overall.

When they traded for Peters, there were scouts who said it may have been the worst trade in NFL history, and that the Bills GM should be fired. Those may have been exaggerations, but it give you an idea of what they landed when they got the guy.

Could he suddenly become a bust...I suppose. It's happened to other players, but the facts are that this guy is entering his prime and every scout and GM thinks he is a beast. While Thomas is clearly on the downside of his career.

MyPal - we need the regular season bad. People are judging preseason too much. When the lights go on Sunday - we will see if he can handle Peppers and the young rookie Brown.

He has nowhere to hide in week 1.

I guess overreacting to the preseason is a ritual that will never die.

If the Reid era has taught us anything, you'd think it is that the preseason results mean next to nothing.

If my life depended on it, I'd go with Peppers without a doubt.

                      * Even moreso - the first 8 weeks mean basically nothing. This team could start 3-5 and it would not shock me if they won the Super Bowl anyway.

Very odd franchise. But I'll take it.
