  • Eagles Sign Geoffrey Pope from Bengals release...

...Jack Iggy. That dude was lame.

Eagles Ink CB Pope; Waive Ikegwuonu

The Philadelphia Eagles today announced they have signed CB Geoffrey Pope. To make room on the 53-man roster, the team released CB Jack Ikegwuonu.
Pope (6-0, 186) started the 2009 season on the Cincinnati Bengals active roster and appeared in four games, playing mostly on special teams. He was waived on October 8, but was signed to their practice squad the next day and has been there for the balance of the year.

Seems like there has been more roster shuffling than usual this year, but I don't know.

They need a corner who can help them for the next couple of weeks, that's for sure. Can't keep asking Sheldon Brown to play with that hammy.
Don't kid yourself Jimmy. If a cow ever got the chance, he'd kill you and everyone you cared about!

How about all the time we invested in Ikegwuonu just for him to stink? That's lame.

      Joselio's suspension was bad timing.

What was Joselio's violation again? Diuretic?

          Did he give an excuse?

Hanson's excuse was that he was on his period and felt a little bloated.

During practice, Hanson's agent Jeff Nally e-mailed a statement from attorney David Cornwell that said the cornerback had tested positive for a diuretic after the Eagles' NFC championship loss at Arizona last season.
Cornwell said Hanson felt bloated after eating Chinese food and he took a pill that turned out to be a diuretic, which is banned by the NFL because it can be used as a masking agent for steroids.

All he had to do was wait an hour and he'd been hungry again.

Iggy is going to have snort painkillers somewhere else. Such a tragedy.

I know. I was attempting to be 'ironic'!

Speaking of irony, it seems to me there is a bit involved in the 2 personnel actions reported today.

The Birds rolled the dice on both guys.

Ike was a projected 1st rounder until he 1)gets injured and 2) gets sticky hands. Birds roll the dice in the 4th round!

Justice was a projected high 1st rounder until he exhibits some character and attitued problems. Birds role the dice in the 2nd round.

                          Moral?...damned if I know?

So true and it happened last year! Really strange decision by the NFL

There goes another first round talent that the birds picked up for a song and let go for nothing.
Wait until next year is a terrible philosophy
