  • PE.com: Should We Root For The Cowboys?

I posted a link to this article, though I'd find it physically impossible myself to pull for Dallas. Just can't see it happening. I do think that both the Saints and 'Boys should decimate each other on the field, going to their second- and third-string players and the game ends in a draw. I'd like that.

Too many other things can happen--- I'll never root for the Girls unless it has an immediate favorable impact on the Eagles.

This is just theory right now.

I believe the Eagles win the Div outright at 11 and 5---- So I don't care if the Vagiants and the Girls tie at 10 and 6.

      NO!
"Philly fans are great....It's the only place where you pull up on the bus and you've got the grandfather, the grandmother, the kids and the grandkids - everybody flicking you off. At other stadiums, they give you the thumbs-down. Here, they give you the middle finger.”

The Eagles can add the exclamation point on Wade's pink slip:

        http://content.usatoday.com/communit...terstitialskip

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones reiterated on Friday that the team's performance in the final weeks of the season will weigh heavily into whether he brings Wade Phillips back as coach next season.
Losers of two straight, the 8-5 Cowboys play undefeated New Orleans on Saturday and need a win to breathe life into their playoff hopes.
Phillips is in the final year of a three-year contract, with Jones holding an option for next season.
"The outcome of games ultimately do weigh in on decisions," Jones said Friday a Dallas radio station, via ESPN.
"And the ones at the end probably have a little bit more weight than the ones at the beginning of the season."
Jones has consistently said he won't make a decision on Phillips' fate until after the season. He said recently that if Jones can take the team on a strong push into the playoffs, he could envision bringing Phillips back next year. -- Sean Leahy

Yea well, the girls lose to the birds at the end of the season and Wade is gone. The girls win and he may or may not have saved his job; probably not. Jerry can say what he wants but they have to win out or old Wade is making phone calls.
On a related note, I hate the fact the skins could get this right and be a force in the east. Same goes for the girls.
Wait until next year is a terrible philosophy
          Hope is not a strategy
          RIP

This is too damn convoluted for me to root for the Cowboys.

If it was something simple like: Cowboys win and Eagles win, Eagles make playoffs, then yeah, I could root for them.

But there's three weeks left and too many damn scenarios.

            So to summarize: fuck em.

I have, on occasion, rooted for the Giants over the Cowboys...and then purged.

I have/will never root for the Dallas under any circumstance.

              That is all!

The Eagles could still finish behind the Cowboys (in a 2-way with the Cowboys sweeping head-to-head) at 11-5.

FWIW, the explanation on Eagles' website missed one item - the Packers would also need to finish 10-6 or better in the "worst case scenario" scenario for the Eagles to miss the playoffs. At 10-6, the Packers would win a tiebreaker with the Cowboys (on head-to-head win) for wild-card seeding.

Root for the Cowboys.......The odds of that ever happening are almost zero.

"If" the Girls can win out and in doing that of course they would have beaten the Eagles 2x-- then they deserve to be ahead of the Birds.

Still refuse to root for them while there are so many variables alive.

Cheering for the Cowboys is just plain stupid. We want to win the division. If the Cowboys lose and we win the next 2 the division is ours.

Well I was rooting for N/O all night... but at least it helps us secure a playoff sot if we beat the 49's.
