    Dear alternate probowlers

    When you make it to the pro bowl because someone can't play because they moved the pro bowl to the week before the Super Bowl, YOU AREN'T REALLY A PRO BOWLER!

    I'm sure Mikell is giddy with excitement but when you make it cause someone backs out, it's not really that big of an accomplishment.

    I was thinking about this earlier. I think a lot of players have Pro Bowl bonuses figured into their contracts. When you back into the Pro Bowl, I wonder how it affects those bonuses.

    Then need to rename the Pro Bowl to the Better Than Average Bowl, or something like that.

      Yeah, i figured that too. And technically they are probowlers (as their agents/lawyers will argue) so i see the Pro Bowl before the SB idea going away in 3...2...1...

          I feel like some drunk intern said to Roger Goodell "hey, you know what would be great? if the Pro Bowl was a week before the Super Bowl." And they ran with it.

            Any one hear the numbers on how many players (not in the Super Bowl) have turned down the chance to play this year? ESPN was saying that it's one of the highest rates since they moved it to Hawaii but they didn't give the actual figures. Can't say I blame them. If there's no damage to the contract (meaning you were named to the pro bowl so it triggers your bonus regardless if you play or not) then why bother with it? Why go through the bull shit for an all expenses paid trip to.... Miami?

              That's gonna be tough to find because they only publish the replacements and not turn downs. Sheldon Brown turned them down and his name is nowhere to be found on the roster.

                Sheldon turned them down? For a guy that has been a borderline PB'er for some time now, I figured he would jump at the opportunity. Tho he was pretty beat up by the end of the season.

                  just saw a comment that mikell shouldn't be allowed to watch the pro bowl let alone play in it... priceless and i couldn't agree more.
