I did go to the morning practice yesterday, and they cut it short after 1 freaking hour. Kind of pisses me off. There was nothing on the PE.com website about it being an abbreviated practice. Everyone in the stands was looking around going, "Wait...what? It's over?"

It was an absolutely GORGEOUS day. If there was a day this summer to have a good practice, yesterday morning was the day.

I guess it was because of Flight Night, but it's really stretching it to say that meant the AM practice should be cut short. I don't live that far from Lehigh, but if I had driven from somewhere far away I would've been ticked.

The autograph session also only lasted about 5 minutes. I didn't have a ticket to get in there anyway, but usually they are in there for a good 30-45 minutes. I blinked and they were gone.

Even Spadaro seemed miffed. They usually do THREE interviews after practice. He interviewed Kafka. I asked him who else was coming over, and I shrugged his shoulders, looked over at the tent and said, "Well....all the players.....they're gone already." He looked as confused as I was.

I did not go to Flight Night. But, I did want to comment on the TV coverage for it.

What I had hoped for on TV, was a chance to really watch the individual matchups. Instead, nearly the entire broadcast was a self-promotion lovefest for the Eagles.

I do think that the Eagles are a terrific organization. And, they may do more for the community than any other NFL team. But, I thought that the self-promotion was a little over the top. Too much self-promotion. Too much Hugh Douglass schtick. Not enough football.

Attending Flight Night was probably a cool thing. But, it was a complete snorefest on TV.

I was thinking about heading up to TC yesterday too but I thought I saw that it was a 10/10/10 practice and I knew there'd be no afternoon practice so I skipped it.

The Flight Night broadcast was beyond awful, and I'm usually very forgiving of preseason broadcasts. But they had an uncanny knack for showing the players standing around in the huddle, then cutting away to an interview or commercial the second they lined up to run a play. It was uncanny, like they were trying to avoid showing the action. I think they had no idea how to handle the broadcast. (It was the first time they've done it, I suppose.)

IMK. Glad to see that somebody else agrees with me.

I think you nailed it. It was almost as if they were trying to not show the action. At the time, I remember thinking that maybe they were trying not to show the plays, because the team executed them so poorly. But, I really doubt that was the case.

The Lehigh practices shown on the Eagles site were 100x better than the Flight Night broadcast.

I couldn't agree more with the telecast was absolutely horrible. The audio was bad, the camera work was bad, the field action was nonexistent.
I understand that Flight Night is a Charitable Fundraiser & that the Luries & the Organization really do wonderful things in the community.
However, silly me, I actually thought they would show some Eagles football. Kolb lines up & the camera cuts to an interview on the field. WTF! It was a TV joke & I seriously doubt that the NFL Network will have that "show" on Live TV next year.
Just give me ONE before I go!

Maybe they didn't want to show anything so next year if you wanted to see some action you would have to shell out the 25bucks to see it in person.

You encourage people to buy tickets for next year by making it look cool on television, not by making it look lame and boring.

I haven't looked at it yet, but Tommy Lawlor at Igglesblog said a much, much better video of the Flight Night action is available at the website.

The training camp videos have been fantastic this year.

You guys should have just watched the Phillies. That only gave me a mild case of heartburn instead of the heartache you guys suffered through!

Yea, I waited with interest to watch flight night even though I knew it would only be a scrimmage. But it was beyond the worse I have seen because there was almost no football. A little Hugh Douglas goes loooooong way and they had a lot of him which was terrible. And I forget the name of the good looking blond named Colleen but she just ain't got it. It is always nice to see the birds on TV but that flight night business has to be one of those things that you had to be there for because it didn't cut it ton TV.
Wait until next year is a terrible philosophy

Oh yeah. Colleen at least brought the broadcast up from an F to an F+. I really didn't hear a damn word she said anyway

I watched 20 min. of that garbage and turned it off. What a complete unwatchable cluster fuck that whole fiasco was. Shame on you NFL network for attempting to pass that off as a "intrasquad scrimmage". Yeah right.
Stand for the flag you assholes!
