(OT) The hedge bet

what are you guys thoughts on the hedge bet?

For example, the SF Giants are about 2.5 to 1 to win the NLCS.

Would you put some money on the Giants to win? To hedge your happiness? Or is that bad juju?

I've been on record that since the the gambling gods hate me more than the sporting gods, that by betting against my team, i'm effectively buying a win.

Vin the only time I've ever done something like that is when I would bet on the Cowboys back in the 90's. I never bet on them against the Eagles though. I used to look at it as 'If they're going to win the game, they ought to pay me a fee for it!' Fortunately (or maybe unfortunately) they won far more often than they lost back then so even though I hate that time period as an Eagles fan, I figure they probably made a few thousand for me during their run. juk - i would do the same with the yanks but their dumbass fans always skew the odds so bad that betting $100 to win $30 just pissed me off.
