Totally SCHOOLED Andrews!! I just rewatched the game and Andrews must have paid the umpire. He could have been called for holding double digit times. I guess the ump felt sorry for him. He looked like some of those LTs we used to line up there before Tra Thomas. If the game were properly officiated, Andrews would have looked like the Winston Justice fiasco.

Agreed. I have no idea what game the refs were watching because I was watching Cole get hogtied repeatedly
You know Darren if you'd have told me 10 years ago that someday I was going to solve the world's energy problems I'd have said your crazy.... now lets drop this big ball of oil out the window.

This is why I've always felt that Cole was slightly over rated. He has the potential to be the best pass rusher in the league, but for whatever reason he can't seem to draw a holding call. So teams are effectively able to neutralize him by "cheating".
Whatcha Gonna Do Brother, When the Eagles run wild on you?

This is the first time I've ever heard someone say that Trent Cole is "over rated."

Don't get me wrong, I think he is a great player, and gives 100% on every play. However, he continues to "allow" himself to get held without drawing the penalty, so what good is that?

That's more on Reid than Cole. Coaches send films to the NFL officials every week. He should be complaining bigtime. It's been going on for years.

I think Trent doesn't get the calls alot of times because part of his success comes from getting inside the OTs arms before he has a chance to extend them.
We're looking for people that are fundamentally different,” vice president of player personnel Andy Weidl said Saturday night. “The love and passion for football, it's non-negotiable. They're caring, their character, they do the right thing persistently, and they have a relentless playing style that you can see on tape. The motor, it burns hot. You see them finishing plays. They have a team-first mentality. They're selfless individuals.

I think Cole seems to get held more than most DEs because he's better than most DEs so it shows up more. Other top notch guys also get held a lot without calls. It also shows up more on DEs that use an outside speed rush.

It recently dawned on me why refs have been swallowing the whistle on these holds the last couple of years. I'll bet they have been told to as another way of protecting the QB and the $ gazillion they make.

Are you serious with that $hit??? Christ, what do you want him to do? The umpire is 15 feet away, looking directly at him getting completely mugged, and doesn't throw a flag.

If anything, he's too good. Refs don't call the holds, because they'd either be calling holding on every other pass play, or he'd have 10 sacks a half, and they don't want either.

I don't blame Cole, but it's a disturbing trend nonetheless.

Maybe under preforms would be a better word?
