  • I'm pretty confident for a win.

The Houston Texans aren't a team you can take lightly, but the fact is they have the worst pass defense in the NFL. And if there's one thing Andy Reid knows how to do, it's utterly destroy a flawed secondary. Their offense is dangerous but our offense is equally terrifying. We could easily hang 40+ on the Texans.

Love the home field advantage on the short week, too. I think last week's loss was a wake-up call and the team will be ready to kill on Thursday night.

If the Texans are smart they will go for a ball control, clock grinding type of game mashing us on the ground wit AF. You gotta figure they want to limit our opportunities and kepp our offense off the field as much as possible. I don't think they can win a shootout against us. So my biggest concern is that we keep thier run game in check, get out to an early lead and force them out of that game plan.

This game scares me to death. Houston has been playing good football but blowing games in the 4th quarter with last weak being the exception. Their offense is explosive, and we have no way to stop Johnson (who does?). Samuel is out (I hope, let him heal!), and if he plays he won't be close to 100%. I've seen quite a bit of them lately and their defense is playing much better. I just hope that we get by tonight! It's a huge game for them too.

I think this has all the makings of a big time shoot out. Foster, Slaton and Ward can be effective but with the secondary injuries we have I think the Texans would be crazy not to try to exploit that weakness. I don't see them as a ground control offense this week - they're going to try to take full advantage of the mismatch Johnson gives them with our CBs. Even if Asante does play tonight he'll be less than 100% and so I expect Andre Johnson to be extremely effective.

At the same time though I don't see the Texans being able to stop us either. This is going to be a slug fest boys!! Bet the house, the kids college fund, and your 401K on the over tonight!!! Make it a party and bet the reverse on the over and the Eagles to cover the 9 point spread.

From the Inqy just a few minutes ago....

Asante Samuel is looking like a game-time decision for tonight’s game against the Houston Texans.

Samuel, who did not play against Chicago, is listed as questionable by the Eagles with a knee injury.

“I am trying to get all the treatment I can!” Samuel posted on his Twitter page shortly after 10 a.m. today.

Birds need this win at home to forget the Chicago debacle.
                  It's a romp 34-20.
I've got Vick, Maclin, & Foster going tonight. Time for a Scotch.
