Just sold our house and are moving into new house August 19th. Directv - for whatever crazy reason - gave me NFL Sunday Ticket for free this year as part of the mover package. LOL. Awesome. Love it.

* Thanks. Took a bloodbath on selling my house but I also bought into one of the nicest areas in Baltimore for cheap. With a 20 month old and my first son on the way as well - needed to do it. Got a freaking 4.5% 30 year fixed with no points. The loss on the house was bad - but the trade off outweighed it. Pumped up.

And yes - DTV has given me a zillion loyalty credits over time. They hooked me here.

Yea, I'm trying to sell my house too so I can move closer to center city (Philly), but the market is a total buyers side fiasco...I would have to take a loss to move the place and since I am not in any hurry I'm going to wait for now...

Funny, we just refinanced and that is the exact same number we got. Congrats!

DirecTV is awesome.

I left them to go to Comcast (for what I thought would be cheaper access to HDTV). BIG MISTAKE on my part - Comcast is the sleaziest organization I have ever dealt with. Three days later, I called DirecTV and asked what deals they could do for me if I decided to come back. They took $29.99 off my bill each month for the next 12 months! Result: A happy customer, who will be loyal to them for an extended period.

BTW - Congratulations, BP! Man, it is good to see how you have grown!

Sold the house?!?!?! But you just put those awesome windows in it last year.... oh well! Congrats on the move and the new baby!! I miss DTV but I have to stick with Comcast for a while due to lack of options on high speed internet out where I live. It's cheaper to have Comcast for Internet and TV than it is for just internet and then adding DTV. The bonus with them is that I get Comcast Sportsnet for Phils and Flyers games which I can't get on DTV. I wish they'd hurry up and make that deal to carry CSN on DTV, then I'd be willing to pay a little more to be rid of Comcast!! Or if Verizon would get FiOS out to me I'd make the switch in a second! I have SO MANY horror stories about Comcast that their name is considered a curse word in our house.

Congrats on the new home BP. As a heads up on the NFL ticket, I've had direct tv & the ticket for 11 years now. I called & said it was unfair that new customers get the NFL ticket for free while existing customers were being charged $66\month for 6 months. They agreed & I got the ticket for $31.99\month for 4 months. They WILL play ball & like anything else, if you don't ask, they won't volunteer info.

Threaten to quit! Or, quit - then three days later tell them that you foolishly went with Comcast and you regret your actions. Ask what kind of deals they have to lure you back - one of the deals may be the Sunday Ticket for free - or maybe you'll get $29.99 off your monthly charges like I did!
