Rodgers-Cromartie on Leftwich hit: It was a clean hit



Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie answered a few questions about his controversial hit on Byron Leftwich Thursday night Sheil Kapadia of Birds 24/7 reports.

The play in question occurred at the 1:12 mark of Thursday night’s game against the Steelers. Leftwich escaped pressure, rolled to his right and tried to find a receiver. Rodgers-Cromartie, who was in coverage, came running towards him, left his feet and launched himself at Leftwich, leading with his right shoulder. It was precisely the type of play the league is trying to get rid of.

Rodgers-Cromartie doesn't expect a fine and was asked if he had any regrest about the hit. “Regrets? We’re playing football, man,” Rodgers-Cromartie said. “The Bible said don’t live a life of regret.”

Interesting you should raise this point. Just the other day I was reading through several of the books of the Apocrypha and came across these verses:

From the book of Darnell, Chapter IV, verses 6 through 12.

The league doesn't agree with DRC. Today he was fined $21k which is a 5% bump from last years fines. Dumbass play by DRC which can not happen during the regular season or he WILL be suspended for at least 1 game. We don't need that.

To me things worse, DRC says "I ain;t even got that" according to NFL.com. Now it's one thing to make a mistake but don't be a fuckin knucklehead & compound the situation.

There is no doubt he was trying to deliver a message to go that high. And this is a guy who doesn't EVER hit hard.

After the Hamel's HONEST explanation for delivering a message, I am just glad he didn't say, "I didn't like the way the Steelers were bringing the house on Vick and Kafka, so I decided to welcome their QB to some old fashion dirty shots."
