  • Would You Take A Flyer On A British Olympian and Rugby Player?

Mr. Lawrence Okoye says that teams project him at DE. Stands 6'6"at 284 lbs. IMO worth a look-see.

Hell yes he's worth a look. If he played Rugby he knows how to tackle & follow the ball. That said, chances are slim.
Just give me ONE before I go!

It seems to me that we've got about 10 "flyers" going already. What hurt could there be in taking another? My personnal feeling is that there is going to be so much new stuff thrown at this team that they don't need another distraction, but who knows?

Camp is going to be a circus this year. A shitload of new players ,more than a handful of QBs and the first year without AR. This team will have nothing BUT distractions. Why not add another ?
We're looking for people that are fundamentally different,” vice president of player personnel Andy Weidl said Saturday night. “The love and passion for football, it's non-negotiable. They're caring, their character, they do the right thing persistently, and they have a relentless playing style that you can see on tape. The motor, it burns hot. You see them finishing plays. They have a team-first mentality. They're selfless individuals.

I'm all for bringing in an assortment of these guys to see if any have any skill at all but hopefully they weed some of these guys out at mini camps or early in TC
Wait until next year is a terrible philosophy
          Hope is not a strategy

Update: Brandt believes that Olympian and ex-rugby player Okoye may be drafted as a result of his Regional Super-Combine performance. Also sounds as if he's added weight. Up from 284 lbs to 303 lbs. Ran 4.78 and 4.88 40's. 35 in. vertical, 10' 5" broad jump.

Good luck, guarantee he's on the Chiefs, Reid's always thought he could outsmart the league.
