  • Round 1.....

    Goes to Vick?

We need a much larger sample for sure, but I would say Mike won the first round.

I have thought a along that it is his job to lose, and the quickest way for him to lose it would be turnovers. Foles had the turnover in round one.

Both guys showed some good stuff. In the second game, I want to see Vick rin that high tempo offense , and see if he can handle it as well as Foles did.

Vick might have a slight advantage after that great throw to Desean. But, IMO, the high tempo drive that Foles engineered for a TD was a thing of beauty, right down to running the ball right up the gut in the redzone for an 8 yard TD. Foles also looked a bit more athletic than most give him credit for on that run.

I thought going in that Vick was going to run away with it, (no pun intended) but Foles is making it pretty damned interesting.

I guess they're pretty close with Vick having a slight lead. It's hard to be excited about either one of them after watching Brady put on a clinic on how the game can be played. He was ridiculous all week.

Most QBs are less than impressive when compared to Brady. I'm more concerned with the defense that Brady and the Patriot RBs embarrassed.

Yeah, I keep hearing about what Brady did to our defense......Ummmm, y'all did see that the first drive all he did was hand the ball off while they ran over our asses, right???? Barkley could have done that.

I agree that Foles was very impressive, which is why I want to see Vick run that up-tempo style of offense. And with this read/option style of play packages that they have, I can't believe that he couldn't light it up....IF HIS BRAIN IS FUNCTIONING!

Lost in the shuffle was G J Kinney. It was shock Troup time, but he did a great job.

The QB race really doesn't matter. By week 4, Vick will be on IR and Foles will be running the show until he gets hurt by week 8.

Well then maybe Kinney gets called up from the PS. Hell, he could even end up playing after Chip sees Barkley's popgun arm for a couple weeks.

Sure looks like Jukin will be buying lunch when Vick is starting on September 9th!

It will probably be Sept. 9th till we find out.

You mean you're high on Vick for his perfect execution of the famous "fake to nobody" for a TD? I didn't even know Chip had that one in his arsenal! I thought that was Andy's creation. Foles ran the offense about as good as you can, although it was against NE's dreadful 2nd defense. I'd say it's still anybody's job.

I sure hope not MM. After last season's fiasco, I'm all for competition at every position. IMO Kelly needs to make his decision by the 3rd preseason game to tighten up the O for the opener. Foles will start the next game so IMO he needs to really light it up to pass Vick on the depth chart.

It's hard to read ANYTHING about Chip at this point. I wonder if the open competition might not continue through the season and based on a better fit vs a certain opponent it might be Vick or it might be Foles.

The one thing people forget is that Vick is not the future. Foles may not be but he has more future than Vick. I still play Foles, even if my future QB isn't with the team yet.
Wait until next year is a terrible philosophy
                            Hope is not a strategy

Why not play Foles? Vick would be one heck of a reliever. I don't see Barkley as an NFL QB. I Hope I'm wrong.
