  • The Eagles' Foles Gold

Just heard that Nick is ready to go and will start this week against the Raiders. Glad we won't be seeing Barkley. He turns over more balls than a $5 crack whore.

Every year we expect to beat the shitty raiders, we lose. I'm thinking this year is the year we win?

QBs heads are a fragile bunch with the exception of a few. I hope Chip tells Foles to relax and he will get plenty of time to show his stuff. And then don't fold on him in a week. The birds need to see if he is the real deal; so far he hasn't shown it. If he concusses again you might as well wish him the best in his future endeavors
Wait until next year is a terrible philosophy
        Hope is not a strategy
        RIP

I'm holding out hope that Foles' performance against Dallas was by design, and he now has a lot of money in a foreign bank account.

Because, if not, it's going to be very, very hard to trust him going forward. Seriously, how in the hell does a guy choke THAT bad??? How can you trust him?? It was so bad it doesn't even make sense. It's not like the Cowboys were the 85 Bears.

He's going to get another chance by default, but even if he lights up team after team, there's still going to be that lingering fear that when he gets in a big game, he's going to crack under pressure.

Fuck it, give me Johnny Football in the draft. He's got warts, but at least he can handle pressure.

One of the big pluses about Foles coming out of college was that he could handle pressure. His o-line was as bad as any in football and he continued to make plays and take hits. That's why i was so high on him in the draft. If he can put up numbers like he did in college behind a horrible line imagine what he can do with some legitimate protection and time to make the read. Give the kid a break. He played slightly better than tino would have played in the Dallas game but it was one game in a handful of appearances. Let's chalk it up to a growing experience and move on with hope that it was a one time thing. if it wasn't then we deal with it, but for now I'm willing to say it was a fluke.

Man, I don't know. It could write it off if he just made a couple of bad decisions, or threw an ill advised pick or two. But, to completely go into the tank, deer in the headlights like that??? I've completely lost faith in the guy. He's going to get a chance to redeem himself, but when one finds himself in the first, fairly big, pressure game in his career, and he responds with one of the worst performances in NFL history, it's really hard to just write it off.

I'm with you EB. That was classic gag shit. There is no reason to believe he won't gag again in a big game. He's already proved he's not the guy. I think the worst thing that could happen is that he plays good and the Eagles fall in love with him.

We have to be optimistic. While it was a horrid performance, was it really worse than Sunday? At least Foles is still not throwing interceptions. If you have very few mistakes, I still think Chip can design some plays to put points on the board. Let's hope Nick has grown from his horrible Dallas experience and sets himself straight.

Come on steve, let's be fair. You act like all Barkley does is throw interceptions. He also mixed in a fumble.

Hard bunch. Dang, the kids played what, 9 games? He's had one really bad one. It came at a bad time obviously, but still to be comparing him to Kevin Kolb and stuff like that is crazy imo. He played well last year, considering who he had around him. And he was rock solid vs NY and Tampa. I know we all want to win, but sometimes we really rush the young guys and if they dont prove to be that 'stud' right away, we dont want em. Somtimes they need time to grow and get better. He may bomb out, but hopefully he gets the rest of this season to show what he's got without having to look over his shoulder.

It's just not that easy to forget that in a game where he was playing to solidify his position as the QB of the team going forward, he played a historically bad game. Not just a turnover or two, or a bad decision or two, or an ill-advised pick 6, no..one of the worst QB performances in NFL history.

He's going to get another shot by default, but after that debacle I no longer feel like he's a guy you can count on to win a championship. Not after that.

You are right sir. It's not fair - to Kolb! I'd take him in a heartbeat over the junk we have now.
