And to think that they wanted Kelly! Remember that La Canfora report?

Wait.... What was that analogy? "They aren't girlfriends? You can't dump them if they fail to please you one time?" Waaaaa? OMFG. Hahahaha.

          ESPN: http://espn.go.com/blog/cleveland-br...g-old-promises

In a quirky way, the Browns are every bit as consistent as the Steelers. Except the Steelers (three coaches since 1999) stick with their people. The Browns consistently dump them before asking their fans for more faith and belief.

A new Browns coach will walk into this system: Joe Banner guides football. There’s no sense kidding about it, he makes final decisions on personnel. GM Mike Lombardi assesses personnel. The coach has input. But the decisions are made by Banner.

Which is fine, as long as he’s making the right decisions.

It’s also fine if you’re going to set a plan and stick with the plan alongside the guy you hire. The Browns this season clearly were building toward 2014 and beyond. To say they tanked is going too far, but the focus was on the future. Chudzinski bought into it, supported it. But in the end he didn’t get the same support.

But what that system does is eliminate a strong-minded guy, or a guy capable of personnel decisions. Because he’s not going to have the say.

It’s no coincidence that Chip Kelly went to the Eagles instead of Cleveland. In Philadelphia he has say over his roster.

I wonder what he really said instead of "fail to please"

This is so fitting for asswiper Banner. He was always known as the guy who would fuck up negotiations with players and piss them off. Then, he loses his gig to Reid and more personable, Roseman. Then, he goes to Cleveland, can't land Kelly, gets stuck with Chudzinski and fires him after one season.

              The Weasel has struck again.

It seems clesr that Banner learned a lot, and I do mean a LOT from his time with the Eagles. Joe is doing a PERFECT imitation of Jerry Jonea and even throwing in some Danny Snyder. Take a good businessman ith a big ego and bigger chechbook and suddenly they think they know everything about football. I feel sorry for the Browns fans who got stuck with that dickhead as an owner. They will suck for as long as Joe is calling the shots.

Thank goodness Banner is no where near our program any more. He had become a power hungry self important little prick who I hold much more to blame for the Eagles fall-off then I do Reid. Andy couldn't salvage the mess last year, but Banner had a lot to do with the deterioration of this club. And he couldn't communicate with the fan base without coming off as the self important egotistical prick that he is.

Fair thee well, Weasel! Enjoy Cleveland(I know they won't enjoy YOU)
