  • Question.........

Your biggest disappointment with TC so far this year?

    Mine,,,,

    1. Where in the world is Gaffney? ( I really did and do have high hopes for him.)

    2. Pinky's health. ( I was expecting the year off to really get him healthy and productive again)

    Your's?

      1. Westbrook getting injured. I really, really hope this isn't a harbinger of things to come.

      2. Darwin Walker getting hurt. I feel he's primed for a huge season.

      3. Gaffney.

        - The FO's seeming willingness to go into the season with the expressed intent to "run more" while having done NOTHING to shore up the very thin RB position.

        - The apparent decline in "William" Thomas.

        - Gaffney's very unimpressive play thus far.

OLB. McCoy has been getting a lot of reps and still may come on but I haven't seen what I had hoped for at this point. I expect to see him to grow throughout the year as opposed to being a force early in the year. Jones is what he is. If I am disappointed it is that the coaching staff is accepting what he is.
I'd go with the decline in Thomas as 2 but still hold out hope he is waiting for the season before goings balls to the wall.
Garcia. Maybe some see him lighting it up in preseason but personally I just haven't seen it. For me, he doesn't look any better than Koy did back in the day (Today's Koy is a different story of course) and I never was a big believer in him.

Gaffney. I'm not sure why people had great hopes for him. His performance doesn't surprise me. I do think though that he will be a serviceable WR for the birds. Just not a great signing (much like Thrash).
Wait until next year is a terrible philosophy
            Hope is not a strategy
            RIP

              2. Gaffney

                1) Jones (our OLBs are just not good IMO and are our achilles heel)
                2) Jabar G. (I never bought the hype about him being a really good WR here, but I also didn't think he would be non-existent)
                3) No backup TB to speak of.

Thomas has been disappointing at LT but I honestly didn't think he would come back great. Back injuries are tough to overcome especially for guys his size playing the position he does. It took Marco Rivera in Dallas almost a full year to get healthy and even last year most agreed he struggled. This camp he has apparently looked fine. It may take Thomas almost a full season to get back to his normal self.

                  Josh Parry is still fullback.
Dhani Jones is still outside linebacker.
Reno Mahe is still a punt returner and is too high on the RB depth chart.

Gaffney has been disappointing, and Bloom not being able to play hasn't helped.

                    1. Gaffney. I really expected (and actually still do!) him to have a good season. He looked good in a bad Offense with serious QB problems in Houston so coming to a very good team with a very good QB should have made him better. Instead......

                    2. Pinky. I'm not surprised he's still hurt, but I am surprised that he seemingly hid it from everyone or that they somehow didn't know about the problems he's having before now. Does anyone really think he didn't try running hard before camp started -- wouldn't his trainers be working him hard before now to test the Achilles? How could he still be in so much pain with so many problems this early in the preseason and no one had any idea he was this far away from returning? Surely there must have been indications of it before now. ... so Andy, what's the contingency plan?

                    3. Lack of urgency to replace TO and add depth at RB. I really wanted Moulds/Walker and the addition of Mike Anderson. That would have made me feel a lot better about our WR and RB corps. Now it's looking like another year of worry and being just 1 injury away from... well I won't even say it!

                      1) Injuries! Seems like the list is longer than ever this year and we've got three meaningless games left to play.

                      2) Jabar Gaffney - thankfully this is offset somewhat by the emergence of Baskett.

                      3) Trilliam Thomas. I want McNabb to be healthy this season, and Thomas isn't helping my confidence any.
The definition of insanity is to continually repeat the same action and expect different results.

Thus the Redskins and their fans are, by definition, insane.

                        1. Lack of progress with Gaffney
                        2. Still no reliable fullback.
                        3. OLB is still an issue at this point
