  • My sports weekend.........

Thursday the Giants beat up the Skins when I was rooting for the Skins in this game (Since we already beat the Skins)

Saturday I need South Carolina to at least win if not destroy an un-ranked Missouri to keep the dream of an SEC championship alive -- they give a game away.

Sunday I watch the 1pm game only to see the stinking Ravens take apart Carolina-- I hate the Ravens.

Then I sit through that mess of a game yesterday -- where each team tried to lose as best they could only to see the Eagles win that battle. (may be the 1st team in history to get a KR, P/R and Pick return for TD's and NOT win)

Sunday also -- (just an aside) the Phillies officially finished in last place-- without many hopes for 2015. (I'm giving up my season Tix)

Then I had to periodically watch the Cowboys look like the next SB Champs.

And on top of that -- Even our golf Pro's got hammered in the Ryder Cup.

There are probably a few more-- oh yeah Penn State lost , the rapist of Florida state won, and also(no offense to fans) but Notre Dame won.

Just sayin, bad few days in my head!

Oh, yeah one more --- I have to see highlights of the Nat's, (Who I also hate)
finish they season in storybook fashion with a guy throwing a No-No and and outfielder making a great play to save it and end it.

Md I hate the Ravens too big time, when you live around here like you and I , they are a very easy team to dispise.
I like the Nationals tho, I don't follow baseball much, but we watch Washington news so you hear everything about them, plus I love Jason Werth, nuff said.
I really dont like or not like the Orioles, but my son in law is crazy for them. Wouldn't it be fun if its the Nats and Orioles for the World Series., I 'd have to root for Washington.

I'm with MD on this being a generally nauseating, even vomit inducing, 'weekend'.

Reluctantly, I was pulling for the Gnats to beat Wash because I thought Wash had the better team as far as season-long competition with the Birds. But I didn't want to see the Gnats actually look good in winning.

Saturday brings victories by a couple other villains (ND and FSU starring Jameis POS)

Only saw our game from the mid 3rd quarter on...having been out for dinner celebrating wife and daughter's birthdays (both born on 9/29). Got home and turned on game just as Ertz fumbled the ball away. As bad as the Oline/offense was, the game was there to win. But Cooper drops another TD that most #2 wide outs manage to catch then, after driving the length of the field with time running out, fail miserably in the Red Zone.

So I'm looking for something soothing Sunday night to make up for all the bad shit and, of course, the Saints puke all over themselves for 3 1/2 hours.

Meanwhile, the inescapable background noise to all this football pain is the incessant and totally over-the-top knob sucking of THE FUCKING CAPTAIN.

It just wouldn't stop!!! The sports shows, the straight news, even the weather channel..."It was almost as if God intervened, the rain that was forecast to spoil Derek Jeter's last game at Yankee Stadium never developed"...you couldn't look or listen ANYWHERE for the past week without having Mr Perfect shoved up your ass.

When I would lose it and yell at the TV or radio for 'going on' about Jeter my wife, who has NO interest in sports, defends all this Jeter noise by explaining "He's such a gentleman." Just kill me!!

There will be no sports radio or TV for me until Wednesday at the earliest.

Oh yeah! With the Phillies in the toilet for the next decade or so, nothing would please me more in baseball than an O's World Series title...preferably beating St Louis in 4.

it would be great to have Machado, Weiters and Davis, but the heck with it...

Oh I like the O's this year, gritty ball club that should be in Philly. Young guys who want to play not just cash the check.

(Still think Balto fans are some of the worst "front runners" in sports.)

Win or lose, I enjoyed th sports weekend.

It's all the journey and not winning. The etertainment is all that matters. Least for me, I just enjoy the ride.

Well that is wonderful for you.

I do have a rooting interest in the outcomes, and yes get disappointed when the outcome isn't in my favor. I think that is called getting invested, I think it's a good thing.
