  • Phins WR Wallace Benched For Quitting On Team

Literally. He pulled himself out of the game, infuriating coaches and teammates.

NFL Network's Jeff Darlington reports Mike Wallace was benched in Sunday's Week 17 loss to the Jets for quitting on the team.
Wallace literally quit. After Charles Clay scored a touchdown late in the second quarter, Wallace reportedly "came off the field and told Joe Philbin he no longer wanted to play in the game." Understandably, Wallace's teammates were "very displeased" with Wallace's actions, and he spent the second half sitting on the bench with no one around him. Wallace was a largely effective wide receiver in 2014, particularly in the red zone, but it's now fair to question whether he'll be back with the Dolphins in 2015. He is owed $9.9 million in salary and bonuses. Dec 28 - 8:18 PM

...and Browns tiring of Josh Gordon?

    http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/writer/...johnny-manziel

Gordon was viewed as a perpetual problem by the Browns former regime, who tried repeatedly to trade him last season only to be vetoed by ownership, sources said. He struggled to integrate to the team despite the Browns spending considerable resources to try to guide him, he was habitually late to meetings and practices, and that behavior has continued in head coach Mike Pettine's rookie season at the helm, sources said.
Gordon “has to go,” according to several members of the organization, with his drug suspensions and lax behavior a growing problem and something they are concerned could rub off on young players on the roster. Of course, it remains to be seen if Browns owner Jimmy Haslam will be willing to take reduced compensation for the diminishing asset, after being enthralled by Gordon's breakthrough 2012 campaign.
Gordon has superior athletic talent but is a failed drug test away from having his career back in jeopardy and with another long offseason looming, expect the Browns to try to reap whatever little compensation they can get for him and move on.

Me thinks this is going to be a wild offseason for the NFL
We're looking for people that are fundamentally different,” vice president of player personnel Andy Weidl said Saturday night. “The love and passion for football, it's non-negotiable. They're caring, their character, they do the right thing persistently, and they have a relentless playing style that you can see on tape. The motor, it burns hot. You see them finishing plays. They have a team-first mentality. They're selfless individuals.

So check me if I have this wrong....

After his team mate catches a TD pass to put Miami up 17-14 with under a minute in the 1st half, Wallace tells his head coach he doesn't want to play anymore in the game. That makes pretty good sense to me!

If we can't arrange a trade for Josh Gordon maybe we can pry this gem loose from Miami.

I think Dallas will make a big push for Gordon if they can get their cap situation under control. If they manage to lure him to the land of the star it would obviously be a major problem for the Eagles who can't cover an old woman with a walker, let alone Dez Bryant on one side and Josh Gordon on the other.

At least the Dallas police force will appreciate all the overtime they'll get out of the deal.

can Dallas afford Dez, Murray and Gordon ? Don't think it happens.

Plus the even bigger money for NEVER actually recording an arrest when a Turd is involved.

Dallas is going to let Demarco Murray walk...book it. The easiest thing to do in this league is get a running back.
