He'd battled cancer like a champ for about 7 years, I believe. Obviously there is a personal element about that for me. A lot of people busted on Stu for his on screen antics, but they didn't see behind the camera, I guess.

      Much respect, and God bless.

He was a good guy. I saw a feature a while back about his battle, relationship w his kids, etc. Some of the details elude me now, but there was a lot of quality to the guy. I was wondering if something was going on b/c on the NFL pre-game show on ESPN yesterday they said Suzy Kolber (?) was sitting in for Stuart Scott. RIP. Really really sad.

Quality human being. It is a shame he died so young.

Listening to sports radio this AM when I learned of Scott's death. A caller, who
described himself as a 40 year old black father of 2 boys, was quite eloquent in
describing Stuart Scott as a 'hero' to he and his now teenage sons because he was a highly visible
example of a successful, well regarded black man whose achievements were
the result of hard work and NOT having been a professional athlete.

Forty nine is much too young.
