  • Fun trip, but sad

The good news is that we leave for our condo in Florida at noon today. It's -20 wind chill here. The sad part is that we had to sell the place and the closing is on the 16th. That's a real bittersweet vacation I'll tell you! It's a long story, but we had to let it go. We had a piece of paradise for awhile anyway.

maybe you guys should just pull up stakes and head down south. I really dislike extreme cold and am only 51. An old bugger like you in minus 20 WC , you must be hardcore.
We're looking for people that are fundamentally different,” vice president of player personnel Andy Weidl said Saturday night. “The love and passion for football, it's non-negotiable. They're caring, their character, they do the right thing persistently, and they have a relentless playing style that you can see on tape. The motor, it burns hot. You see them finishing plays. They have a team-first mentality. They're selfless individuals.

It's my hometown now Bud, and I just can't leave. Normal winters really aren't too bad usually. It's been pretty mild up here so far. I'll bet this cold spell snaps by the time we get back. My usual winters I only wear a vest, but I don't work outside like you do. You can have those brutal Florida summers too! I don't like either extreme.

Sorry about how this is working out, snow bird. But you never know what the future holds. If you really want to make something happen, then I am sure you will.

I was thinking about you last weekend , while I was hanging out in Sebastian (probably about 40 minutes north of your place.) 83 degrees and sunny, it was awesome. You'll be back!

Back many times, and meeting up with you too Mike! I can't see ever giving up our winter breaks, even if only for a week or two.

                      Popper,

I'm very sorry you have to sell the FL place. But since you decided that you needed to sell, it's fortunate you found a buyer as quickly as you did.

There are just 10 units in our place over on the west coast. Two are for sale that were purchased about when we bought ours 10 years ago...at close to the top of the market. Both these owners will lose around 100 k IF they can get even close to what they're asking. They've both been on the market a year and neither owner will give their place away.

We're still in New Hartford due to complications arising in part from the kitten who adopted us. She had her second surgical repair of an umbilical hernia a week ago so we're getting close to heading south. Probably be leaving here shortly after the 16th...the day you're closing.

Like just about everywhere, it's colder than a witches tit here in upstate NY. Going down to (-) 9 tonight. I keep telling myself this cold weather is good in a way because it will make me appreciate FL more when we get there...plus it's cleansing my soul. When I tell myself that another voice says to me, "You're such an asshole!"

                      Have a safe trip.

-40 ....wind chill or actual? Either way that's cold!

rspurr you need to move brother! And how the hell did you swing THREE weeks in Maui? I'm really jealous - until I see the temps where you live. Seriously you need to get out of there and stay on the positive side of 0 this winter. (How's that for a sales campaign? "It's cold as shit but at least it's not below 0!!")

tino where is your place located? My wife and I flirt with the idea of buying a place in Florida every so often but we've yet to get serious about it. IF we found the right deal that could change though.

We got here just in time! It's 60 in Jensen Beach and the locals are freezing. Me, I think it's beautiful! They had to cancel school today back in Mass. because it's so cold. It's going to be damned hard leaving this place, but it sure was fun while it lasted!
