Eagles officially hire Frank Reich as offensive coordinator

The Philadelphia Eagles officially hired Frank Reich as their new offensive coordinator Wednesday according to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports.

The 54-year-old Reich had been the OC for the San Diego Chargers for the past two seasons but was fired earlier this month. Many observers believe that Reich was made the scapegoat for the Chargers' offensive woes in 2015, including the unimpressive rookie season of first-round running back Melvin Gordon, but much of the blame really rests with an offensive line that was riddled with injuries plus key injuries to the wide receiving corps. Newly-hired Eagles head coach Doug Pederson plans to call his own offensive plays but Reich will be heavily involved in game planning.
    "Hey Giants, who's your Daddy?"

    I didn't miss it....I just didn't really care. LOL!

It has been anticipated for a few days now. Reich doesn't excite me, but hopefully he brings something positive to the table. He already does in one way......he's not another member of the band,as it were. If Dougie were to line himself up with a bunch of coaches and assistants that come from the same school/ tree as himself, then you lose the advantage of having a different perspective around.

We have seen what happens when you have too many "yes men" involved. Stagnation and death.

Ill just hope for the best. I was happy enough with the Schwartz hire. He will have full control of the defensive scheme. Offensively, it is going to be Dougs deal. One thing that is bothersome is that neither he, nor reach have much experience as a game day play caller. That could be..........frightening.

I like this hiring. Now we have two former NFL Quarterbacks running this offense. That should make it a little easier to find a franchise QB. It may also be a draw for somebody like RGIII or another QB like Colin Kapernick (if released) to come here to try and revive their career.
Were from Philly F in Philly no one likes us we DON'T CARE!

I saw Frank Reich hit one of ,if not the longest HR I have ever seen a high school kid hit. I hope he's a HR for the Eagles.
We're looking for people that are fundamentally different,” vice president of player personnel Andy Weidl said Saturday night. “The love and passion for football, it's non-negotiable. They're caring, their character, they do the right thing persistently, and they have a relentless playing style that you can see on tape. The motor, it burns hot. You see them finishing plays. They have a team-first mentality. They're selfless individuals.
