The skinny: Before the PSU pro day began, an AFC team representative told NFL Media's Kimberly Jones that he wasn't particularly interested in Hackenberg. By day's end, he sang a somewhat different tune. "After the workout, the person said 'That was a great day. He really helped himself,'" Jones said on NFL Network's "Path to the Draft". Accuracy is one of the key questions scouts have about the enigmatic prospect who started for three seasons in Happy Valley, but regressed in production from his freshman year on. Is he a developmental prospect, or a future franchise NFL quarterback? While a pro day can't answer that question, PSU coach James Franklin suggested Thursday morning that Hackenberg could be both. ... Did he look decent to you?

He can make the throws and they were accurate. Looked better than his tape, but that may have been his line or the game was still a little fast. Can't argue with three years below 60% completion rate. Still see him as mid round pick that has to get a good coach.

He is a guy who in time could develop into a frachise QB, much like Kurt Cousins did.

We will draft a QB somewhere in the draft I imagine. He's as good as any late pick I suppose. I don't know anything about him. Wasn't he in trouble or something?

He had a very poor line at PSU. As a freshman he Had Allen Robinson to throw to. If he's there third round, maybe I'd take him. He made an awful lot of terrible throws, even with a bad line.

I just don't think Hackenberg has the "it" factor. He has the talent. Just not sure about his head. I really don't buy into the bad coaching or players around him.

I would not be to happy if we took him prior to the 5th round. I like and respect Christian because he is a PSU recruit and he stuck out his commitment. Other than that, he has been a big disappointment

I think I land closer to Pliny than Taz. What are you going to do with pro level talent on defense if you can't complete 60% of your college passes. that accuracy may or may not improve and I just don't see the between the ears developing.

You mean like Nick Foles winner or Sam Bradford winner. He has all the physical traits and when he was in a pro style offense under Obrein he played good. He is a could be. But here has been a lot of could bes over the years. I would be fine with him in round 3. If he even lasts that long.

I watched him week in and week out and he was so fucked up I don't know what to think. I saw him right on target and I saw him overthrow a WR screen by 10 yards. He left no real impression. He totally baffled me. No idea which guy showed up week to week or quarter to quarter

Actually a real good comparison except for Hackenburg is much more athletic than Foles was.

Nick played for that nut job Stoop's brother for 3 1/2 years. I really thought that he would thrive under Andy. But Nick pretty much stayed his inconsistent self.

The difference is that Foles carried that team at times and even in the NFL he found ways to win games. Not sure Hackenberg has that skill. When to take him or even IF we should take him is a tough call. If I were the guy who had to decide that I think I'd be looking at him as a PS guy. A lot of pro level coaching and we see what we have in 1-2 years. That means he has to fall to the 5th round for me to take him.

If the Eagles take him in the 3rd round I would be OK with that only because Pedersen is a former QB. If he sees something he thinks is correctable I will trust him. If it were Chip or Andy or anyone else who never played the position in the NFL I'd be concerned. But this is where having a HC who played the position as a pro will pay dividends IMO.
