  • Eagles sign Ruben Randle

Interesting signing, one year, kid is only 24. Depth and competition signing.
Were from Philly F in Philly no one likes us we DON'T CARE!

Lots of talent, good size and speed...BUT drops the ball too much and had multiple brain freezes on the field as a Gnat.

Rumors abound that he and Josh Huff have the same daddy.

Only had 3 drops last year. Josh Huff couldn't sniff 57 catches in one year nor could he score 8TD's

Seriously though its not a big risk type signing. Still young who knows change of scenery could help. I know this I would rather him than Mile Freakin Austin or Riley Cooper

No question about him being an improvement over those last 2 slugs!

His knees may be a problem and he's no threat to join Mensa but he's certainly worth the risk. Maybe Howie can enroll him in the WR equivalent of 'How To Become a Better GM'. It seemed to have worked for Howie.

That is a concern but he hasn't missed a game in 4 years. So who knows. He is worth the risk though.

1mil prove it deal with incentives.....can't lose in my opinion. He could come in and compete for a starting spot, and at least provide some depth at WR. Would not surprise me at all to see him take Huffs roster spot. Josh has been put on notice.

I was thinking the same thing. He is a better number 3 than we have now and will help us out. Good vet pickup in an area we needed it

I guess you mean spot on the depth chart We are not exactly blessed with large WR depth; I'd be really surprised if Huff does not make the team. But he could easily move ahead of Huff on the depth chart (but to be fair, so could a lucky UDFA signing let alone draft pick).

I think Randle starts. He and Mathews on the outside. Aghlohor becomes the 3rd wide out with a mix of Givens. Huff will need to make the team as a special teams player.

Talented kid. This may sound crazy but he has Dez Bryant measurables. I love the signing.
You know Darren if you'd have told me 10 years ago that someday I was going to solve the world's energy problems I'd have said your crazy.... now lets drop this big ball of oil out the window.

Hopefully it isn't the Dez Bryant brain measureable.
I'm neutral on it. Give him a go; if he is crap then send him packing. It let's you have position depth so that you are not painted into a corner on draft day. Agholar/Mathews still have the talent to command the position but they have to produce. TC will give them the opportunity to show whether they will. This guy and Givens and Huff and others that show up in camp have their opportunity also because no one has that job sewn up
Wait until next year is a terrible philosophy
                        Hope is not a strategy
                        RIP

I was looking for a more seasoned vet guy like Avant or Boldin. But then I read Randle is only 24 with 4 years in the league? Man he could really blossom if he coached properly. Could be a very nice signing...............................

Or he just be a piece of garbage former Giant!

Kid was a top performer in SEC. That's enough for me.

Giants fans seem to complain that Randle often coasted on routes, cut them short, did not fight to prevent interceptions, and that sort of thing. May happen more if he's not involved early. He was also benched for off-field issues, and may have had hamstring and knee tendinitis issues last year. But he does have the skills if he ever does get motivated.

Maybe the slap of getting dropped by the Giants will light a fire, or because he didn't get any good offers, or maybe just not having the spotlight hogged by OBJ may help. We can hope, anyways. But a guy like that is in as much danger as getting cut (since only $500K is guaranteed) as he does starting. Definitely a really good risk/reward given the state of our WR but he could end up anywhere from off the team to the #1 WR. If he looks like the same player he was with the Giants, you probably want to cut him so as to not influence other young players. But if he does suddenly dedicate himself, it could be a home run.
