Eagles Release Safety Jerome Couplin

The Eagles released safety Jerome Couplin, the team announced Monday afternoon. Couplin was placed on Injured Reserve with a shoulder injury in November.


Couplin was one of two undrafted rookies to make the Lions opening-day roster in 2014, before spending time in Buffalo that same year. He was eventually signed to the Eagles’ 53-man roster off the Lions’ practice squad.

The Eagles drafted two defensive backs on the third day of the draft on Saturday, namely Auburn’s Blake Countess in the sixth round, and LSU’s Jalen Mills in the seventh round, and appear to be making room on the roster for the group of undrafted free agents they are set to sign.

I think that he lost his starting spot by the end of last season if I remember right.
