  • Thanks Doug.

With thanks also to our putrid band of receivers and Jerome Boger and crew.

    Very, very disappointing loss.

The game was there in front of you Doug and you came up short as a play caller. It was wasn't like you wilted under pressure. You wilted in the face of reasonably good fortune.

It started with that dumb assed "half back pass" from Huff. You were up by ten points with a first down inside their 40. After that ingenious piece of work, you still had a 3rd down still within FG range if you don't gain an inch on the play. And you call a fucking swing pass that loses 6.

Of course listening to Michaels and, especially, Collinsworth gush all night over Dallas' endless stream of superior talent I suppose we should be grateful that the Eagles were even permitted to play in Jerry's magnificent house.

And so ends an altogether shitty weekend.

You forgot to mention the fact the Eagles didn't call timeout with about 30 seconds left in regulation when Dallas was facing a 3rd and long.

Yes. We should have been aggressive there and forced the situation. They could have thrown an interception or had a fumble. If they were forced to punt, there could have been a bad snap. We were too content to allow the game to go into overtime.

I predicted 10-6 because the league sucks. I don't expect us to do anything beyond 10 wins. This is a learning team and I hope they all learned from this game. We have enough right now to play with anyone, let's get this team healthy, get Johnson back and get Wentz some help and who knows what we have to look forward to in the future. Looks good IMO
We're looking for people that are fundamentally different,” vice president of player personnel Andy Weidl said Saturday night. “The love and passion for football, it's non-negotiable. They're caring, their character, they do the right thing persistently, and they have a relentless playing style that you can see on tape. The motor, it burns hot. You see them finishing plays. They have a team-first mentality. They're selfless individuals.

They need someone to stretch the defense. Nobody fears our receivers. Hell the opponents probably laugh at them. How hard is it for Huff to run fast in a straight line and take a shot every now and again? We won't even give the play a name because it would confuse poor Josh.

Unfortunately the birds still have a talent deficiency. Everyone knows the receivers are average on their good days. They make some real tough catches but they drop the ball at the most inconvenient time.
There were bad coaching decisions last night but generally he has been good this year.
Wait until next year is a terrible philosophy
              Hope is not a strategy

Huff has taken a beating from fans. But, he has been dynamite in the return game the last 3 weeks.

And yeah, that HB pass by Huff fooled no one, unlike when Dallas did it and would have had a TD if Beasley's pass was no target.

Huff would have been a touchdown to if was on target. The DB had overrun the play.
