Pain pills made Brandon Marshall forget one of his best games
In a conference call with San Francisco Bay Area reporters ahead of Sunday’s Jets game against the 49ers, Marshall admitted he barely remembers his three-touchdown performance against the Niners in 2014 because he was in a painkiller fog, Ryan Lazo of the New York Post reports.
“I don’t really remember much about that game, because I worked really hard to get back from a high ankle [sprain],” Marshall said. “I’ll say it: I took a couple of pain pills that masked the pain.”
A member of the Bears at the time, Marshall suffered a high ankle sprain 10 days before recording five catches for 48 yards and three touchdowns against the 49ers in a game he said he shouldn’t even have played in.
“I was supposed to be out four to six weeks,” Marshall said. “I don’t remember much from that game. I just remember catching those balls and that was pretty much it.”
