I have no problem with Kiko Alonzo's hit on Flacco

In Kiko's favor: He didn't lead with the helmet and Flacco was just starting his slide.
Against Kiko: it was a QB in the NFL starting a feet first slide and defenses are supposed to read the QBs mind and allow them to slide or juke and gain more yards because that is how protective the NFL is of their QBs.

Suhs fucking crazy, when he gets out of the NFL, stay far far away from him.Originally posted by Rossovich View PostI have much more of problem with Suh grabbing Mallert by the throat.
I didn’t think the hit was an issue either. I think the players were just pissed because Mallet is the backup.

Now here's where we really disagree MD. These QBs take off and want to be heros and all of a sudden they want to bail. That's bullshit in my book. He had 15 yards to slide but he didn't. There should be some kind of "halo" rule. I you slide within 5 yards of somebody you're on your own.Originally posted by MDFAN View PostAhh, close call. But he was going down and Alonso could have held up a bit, but he really leaned into his head with his arm and shoulder. I can see a one gamer or pretty big fine...... Can't overtly go after QB's."Hey Giants, who's your Daddy?"

Maybe you are right big guy..... But that ain't the rule right now. I think it's close and I think he will probably get hit with a one gamer.Originally posted by Eagle60 View PostNow here's where we really disagree MD. I guess that just goes to show how multiple witnesses can see the same event and have a different interpretation of what transpired. I was watching in real time, and I said at the time that it was flagrant, and he should have been ejected. I still feel that way. It's one thing to hit the QB when he slides like that. It's still a penalty. But, he drilled him right in the head. And, it certainly didn't look to me like it was a case where the QB dove into the hit or something. And, fuck that bang bang play shit Kiko. You blew his ass up on purpose, and you know it.

IMO Kiko came in to tackle him. If you're going to tackle somebody you do it with your shoulder. He started his tackle and Flacco slid. Tough shit Flacco, you wanted to be a hero and at the last nanosecond bailed. Take your $25million headache and go home. You get no sympathy from me. Go down earlier and you don't have a problem."Hey Giants, who's your Daddy?"

I would have had less problem with it if he(Alsonso) had his head down. He sized him up and drilled him in the head. He knew where he was aiming Popper.Originally posted by Eagle60 View PostIMO Kiko came in to tackle him. If you're going to tackle somebody you do it with your shoulder. Just a natural reaction EB. As you can tell I think the slide rule is horseshit. I think Kiko's reaction was genuine. He didn't know what the ref was talking about. He was making a tackle period. The slow motion replay always makes things look worse than they are. That hit was all on Flacco IMO. Either go down or go for it. That shit he tried to pull was like a soldier surrendering when he just ran out of ammo. Tough shit fella.Originally posted by Eaglebreath View PostI would have had less problem with it if he(Alsonso) had his head down. He sized him up and drilled him in the head. I'm not sure any of it is on Alonso. At what point can you declare you are a Qb and slide? Carson is a good example. He will go for every yard he can. At what point does the defender have to 'assume' he is going to lay down? Just my opinion but if I start my hit and you then decide to slide I can't stop what is happening.Wait until next year is a terrible philosophy
Hope is not a strategy

Flacco slid late -- I have no problem with him getting hit in that situation, when someone has momentum coming in (there was no time to let up). However... Alonso should have been coming in to tackle him while standing. If he just continued the original path, he should have tripped over the sliding QB (which should be no foul in my opinion). The fact he was hit hard while on the ground seems to me to mean that Alonso changed his target once he saw the slide. Maybe somewhat instinctive, but there was no need for that, and those instincts need to be changed. Just touching a player means he is down, even if not sliding. And to me, the fact that Flacco got drilled in the head means that Alonso changed his attack so he would hit him specifically there -- I don't think that was an accident. That is not cool no matter the situation.

What if Flacco decided to dive for the first down? Then Flacco would have looked like a hero while Kiki looked like a fool tripping over him.If these guys don't want to get hurt they should stay behind the LOS or stop and hold up their hands. There is no way on earth at the beginning of the game Alonso said to himself "I'm going to drill Flacco in the head the first chance that I can" just like cops don't wake up hoping that they can shoot somebody.Originally posted by FairOaks View PostFlacco slid late -- I have no problem with him getting hit in that situation, when someone has momentum coming in (there was no time to let up). I really don't have a problem with the fact that he hit him as much as him drilling him in the head. IMO it was deliberate. He had a shot to blow him up, and he took it. Miami was getting their ass kicked, and I think Alonso was frustrated, along with the rest of the team, and he took that opportunity to drill Flacco in the head, and knock him out of the game.
