  • I predict the Giants will come out throwing...

All week it's the Giants can't win unless Tiki has a big game, Tiki this, Tiki that. Everybody's geared up for Tiki. My dog would bite Tiki right now if she saw him. Ronde too.

Gilbride, that sly dog, will confound us "experts" and come out throwing like he used to when he ran the run and shoot. maybe even a lot of no-huddle in the first half.

    Book it!
Don't kid yourself Jimmy. If a cow ever got the chance, he'd kill you and everyone you cared about!

I would certainly welcome that. Bring on more and more Eli. Sometimes coaches out think themselves, and go away from their strength in an effort to do the opposite of what they think the other team expects them to do. Sometimes that works, but I would guess that it doesn't work more often than it does work.

Careful what you wish for there Chris. We have had no answer for Burress in the past. For some reason they get away from throwing to him against us (Shockey's mouth probably has something to do with that). We have some major matchup problems with Plex. I hope he goes into one of his "disappearing moods" Sunday.

Not too worried about Plax the way our secondary is playing right now. I'm with YPCM, bring on Eli; let Tiki practice for his future job as a sideline reporter.

Plax did draw a few holding and PI calls....here's hoping the William James helps us out there.

It'd make sense for the Jints to come out throwing, and try to force turnovers on defense. If they can get a big-enough lead quickly, at least they can make our offense one-dimensional, and maybe risk throwing some blitzes at us, despite their banged up secondary. Here's hoping the Eagles don't allow it.

I honestly believe the Giants coaching staff has lost complete faith in Eli. I would be shocked if they tried to do this.

I think the basic plan should be simple and have about 4 steps.

              1. LIMIT Tiki. Not stop him but limit him, especially on 3rd down.

              2. Double Plax.

              3. Work the Ref's starting today- about Plax and his push offs, get a call or two to go our way and he will be taken off his game.

              4. Protect the ball.

Personally as a team, player by player we have the better talent, IMO, playing right now. So we just need to play as we have been playing and I don't think this Vagiants team can beat us straight up.

The Giants may try and spread the field with multiple WR sets so that Barber can get some running room, more so than trying to airing it out.

I agree with you. I'd make Shockey beat me. If they hit a bomb to him so be it. He'd probably drop it anyway.

Running from 4-wide sets may be in the game plan - they saw us do it on the Westy TD at the Swamp and might like to turn the tables. I also think that as amped up as our D will be, some misdirection and play-action willl be in the works early.

I think LT is right. Both teams will be trying to change whatever didn't work during the two meetings. Then they will try to take away what worked for the other offense. Just look at INdy's run defense. They KNEW what the game plan would be against them, so they took it away. I could not believe Herm didn't see that coming. By the time he tried to react, INdy was waiting for the play-action. It was like Dundy was one step ahead of Edwards the whole time.

So, we need to stay one step ahead of them. If we do, we can put them on their heals. As we all know, we CAN'T play on our heals, so we have to anticipate what they may do. Be ready for the screens and delay runs. Be ready for them finding out NOW if Eli is their future.
