  • Draft-Safety Dance: or, Dawk and Ray Lewis on the same Team?

    http://www.philly.com/dailynews/sports/ ... ATROL.html

Some interesting draft trivia here. Didnt recall that Mayberry was selected just ahead of Ray Lewis in Rd 1., and that the Eagles were trying to trade up for John Mobley or Brown (OLB).

Call me biased, but I'm kinda glad the Bird's didn't trade their 2nd pick in the 2nd round in '96.

I'm glad they didnt either. But what if Lewis was the pick instead of Mayberry? And then picking up Dawkins in Rd 2? What kind of defense would that have made?

It would have been sick except for the likelihood that if Lewis had been playing for Philly when his homies iced those 2 guys in Atlanta, he'd probably be cooling his heels Lewisburg Prison now. As the whole world is reminded repeatedly by the national media, if you're in anyway associated with Philadelphia, you're guilty until proven innocent!
